McConnell: ‘President Trump’s nominee will receive a vote on the floor of the United States Senate’

With the passing of United States Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg Friday, many on the left appear to be in full panic. The announcement of Ginsburg’s death was not even an hour old before leftists started threatening violence and riots.

Former CNN host Reza Aslan threatened “If they even TRY to replace RBG we burn the entire fucking thing down.”

This reporter questioned how a blue-check Twitter user still had his blue check. As Twitter explains, “the blue verified badge on Twitter lets people know that an account of public interest is authentic.”

California’s notorious Los Angeles Congresswoman Maxine Waters also weighed in:

“Justice Ginsburg’s dying wish was that her seat would not be filled until a new president is installed! Senate Democrats, do not back down. You have a tough fight ahead but our future is on the line! No SCOTUS appointment before the election!!!” Democrat Rep. Maxine Water exclaimed on Twitter.

Rep. Waters didn’t address that Republicans control the U.S. Senate and, White House and can nominate and confirm a new justice easily by Election Day November 3rd.

Senate Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) posted condolences for Ginsburg and issued a formal statement: “The Senate and the nation mourn the passing of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and the conclusion of her extraordinary American life.”

“Since the 1880s, no Senate has confirmed an opposite-party president’s Supreme Court nominee in a presidential election year,” McConnell said in his statement. “By contrast, Americans reelected our majority in 2016 and expanded it in 2018 because we pledged to work with President Trump and support his agenda, particularly his outstanding appointments to the federal judiciary. Once again, we will keep our promise. President Trump’s nominee will receive a vote on the floor of the United States Senate.”

Almost immediately, ActBlue.com posted #GetMitchorDieTrying on Twitter, and announced record-breaking contributions on a new website.

Republican Senator Ted Cruz said President Donald Trump needs to nominate a successor to Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg next week, and that the Senate should confirm that choice or the country risks a constitutional crisis, PJ Media reported.

“I believe that the president should, next week, nominate a successor to the court. I think it is critical that the Senate takes up and confirms that successor before Election Day,” Senator Cruz told Sean Hannity on Fox News.

“Democrats and Joe Biden have made clear they intend to challenge this election. They intend to fight the legitimacy of the election. As you you know Hillary Clinton has told Joe Biden ‘under no circumstances should you concede, you should challenge this election.’ And we cannot have election day come and go with a 4-4 court.”

As for Maxine Waters, she received an earful from the Twittersphere:

  1. I love how the usual-suspect Dems are so nasty and foul and out of their minds and even threaten violence (where is the “tolerance” and “love” and “compassion”? — as Katy points out) while conservatives just have fun with their hysteria. The “dying wish law”!

  2. Just when you think the left can’t get any lower…….. These Democrats are even worse than the Marxists in Cuba and Venezuela. This is not my father’s democratic party. John F. Kennedy would not be able to get nominated in today’s Democrat party. This is what America is up against. Thank you again Katy, no one else in the media would report this. It will be getting more interesting day by day.

    1. It’s simple: honor. We do not know who will be the majority in just a little over a month. Why can’t the Senate wait? There is nothing in the constitution that prevented President Obama from exercising his constitutional right to choose a Supreme Court Justice, but Senate Republicans stopped him. Do you have no shame? Don’t we share this country? Haven’t we all fought for a decent and lawful and fair system. This will erode our trust further (and needlessly). What a shame! Shame on you.

  3. Thanks Katy for sharing the tweets.
I agree with ShowandTell and John the Patriot!
Whether you like it or not President Trump is our sitting president, it is his obligation to put forth the nomination.
I would like to share this from Ruth Bader Ginsburg herself. When asked if President Obama should nominate a candidate for SCOTUS in 2016, she said the following in an interview:
“Thats’s their job. There is nothing in the constitution that says the President stops being President in his last year.”

  5. Love, tolerance, compassion, etc, etc, etc, were only tools to fool the gullible and advance the leftist agenda. Now that they have the end goal in sight they have jettisoned all that baggage so that they can concentrate on their real agenda of hate, violence and tyranny.

We have had enough of the leftists “International Law”. It is time to replace the Crypt Keeper with a constitutionalist.

  6. I think Reza Aslan has provide all the proof needed to jail him for inciting riots, arson etc. Gitmo has room for one more terrorist.

    1. @CW
CW, reza asslan should go further up the road to Havana and exercise his “American First Amendment” rights and see how far he gets with inciting violence and rioting. I some how think he would be sitting in a small, small jail cell in shackles after being beaten to a pulp by Cuban Communists who have no respect for human rights or freedoms. GOD BLESS AMERICA !

  7. I said I was not going to send money to any congressional candidate this year, but Joe Collins is running against Maxine and may have a chance. Young, Black, navy veteran. articulate and handsome. I pray he has a chance to replace the most idiotic member of congress

Shame on the Senate Republicans. You cannot thrown out the constitution and then spin a 180 and then contrive some rationale that is not encoded in our constitution. If you look at this without bias you will see that this is clearly unfair and a cruel gesture in a time in which we need unity and decency more than ever. Why wound our country further? Is this really worth it?

  9. So hopeful that Joe Collins, a U.S. Navy veteran and Republican candidate, is successful in his campaign against Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters to represent California’s 43rd congressional district. Maxine Waters needs to be retired (preferably in a jail cell!).
