UPDATE below: California Gov. Gavin Newsom just announced a new mandate to require school children to get the COVID-19 vaccine in order to be allowed to attend school, “following full FDA approval.”
Putting this new mandate into perspective, Assemblyman Kevin Kiley replied, “Gavin Newsom just announced a vaccine mandate for K-12 students, days after opposing one for prison guards. California kids made the mistake of not giving millions to his campaigns.”
Kiley also issued a formal statement:
Today Gavin Newsom announced a “first” in the nation vaccine mandate for K-12 students. However, just days ago he actively tried to block a mandate for California corrections officers, whose union contributed $1.75 million to his campaign against the Recall.
In explaining his opposition to the corrections mandate, Newsom’s Administration said it is “working with those who remain unvaccinated with educational resources, access to clinicians and experts to answer questions, and ample access to the vaccine.”
“There is no reason the Governor’s policy of ‘education’ and ‘access’ cannot guide vaccination policy in schools,” Assemblyman Kiley (R-Rocklin) said. “At every turn, this Governor has let his top Special Interest donors dictate pandemic policy. It is an abuse of the public trust without precedent in our state’s history.”
Senator Melissa Melendez weighed in as well: “This is a decision that should have been decided upon by the legislature, not mandated by the governor. It’s also a fine example of what a modern day dictatorship looks like.”
Jen Val Laar at RedState weighed in: “I don’t think Newsom understands that he just really undermined the teachers union power in the state – estimates are that 25% of public school students will leave the system b/c of this mandate. The school choice ballot referendum got a major boost with that announcement.”
Summing up Newsom’s newest mandate was this Tweet: “There is no better spokesman for homeschool than Gavin Newsom.”
It wasn’t that long ago that government officials assured the public that vaccine mandates would never be imposed.

The governor issued a statement at 11:46AM:
Following the other first-in-the-nation school masking and staff vaccination measures, Governor Newsom announced the COVID-19 vaccine will be required for in-person school attendance—just like vaccines for measles, mumps, rubella and more.
“The state already requires that students are vaccinated against viruses that cause measles, mumps, and rubella – there’s no reason why we wouldn’t do the same for COVID-19. Today’s measure, just like our first-in-the-nation school masking and staff vaccination requirements, is about protecting our children and school staff, and keeping them in the classroom,” said Governor Newsom. “Vaccines work. It’s why California leads the country in preventing school closures and has the lowest case rates. We encourage other states to follow our lead to keep our kids safe and prevent the spread of COVID-19.”

Gov. Newsom along with the other Democrats who completely control California need to be held personally liable for all student deaths and injuries resulting from this vaccine mandate?
I think all the schools and us as parents need to fight to not have this for our kids I think we need to sue the administration and do petition so I don’t happen it should be a parents choice and he needs to be held accountable for his actions he’s gonna end up killing these kids

Each and every one of the tweeters above have said it all so well. And in the meantime, as the state's school districts BLEED students because of this ridiculous and unnecessary mandate, maybe even the children of those who are in this country illegally as well, the districts will not be receiving Average Daily Attendance money from the state. Or will they screw with the numbers and lie about them, as they are wont to do, to prevent even that from happening?
Gov. Newsom should show us how safe and effective the vaccines are by having his children vaccinated in front of the news media? Of course that will never happen and this mandate doesn't affect his kids who attend an exclusive private school instead of a public school?
Private schools are not exempt from this, unfortunately.
Gov. Newsom announced his vaccine mandate at the San Francisco Unified School District alongside Democrat state Sen. Scott Wiener the gay Jewish lawyer who pushed legislation that provides protection to people who have sex with minors and keeps them off sex offender registry. How sick is that?

Parents need to do their homework.
Children are at very low risk for serious Covid19 illness. Look to studies here in the states and in Europe. Look to VAERS. The CDC recognizes those under 18 are at low risk and rarely transmit to teachers. Let’s be honest this mandate is being driven by the CTA , AFT unions.
Please look up Dr. Peter McCullough, he is well respected cardiologist who warns against the mRNA shot for anyone under the age of 30!
Do not let them experiment on your children! We do not know the long term side effects!
This is not a traditional vaccine like the Measles, Mumps and Rubella.

I thought it was interesting that Gruesome said in his tweet: "This will go into effect following full FDA approval." But we know that the vaccine has not yet been FDA-approved, only the Emergency Use Authorization extended, although the powers have tried to imply that the stupid thing HAS been approved.
So is he just trying to scare and disorient people (again) by lashing out with one of his empty threats? Because he's mad anybody voted to recall him?

I've noticed with members of the so-called "Ruling Class" that they often start to look sort of reptilian or crypt-keeper-ish, in a way that is not related to the natural aging process. It's as if, over time, their outsides begin to match their insides. Kinda creepy.

I want to get this out fast. Here are three answers:
1) Mechanism of action: the mRNA vaccines do not look or work like almost all other vaccines, which are far simpler biologically.
Most vaccines present an inactivated or attenuated viral particle to the immune system so that it can react to the "dead" virus as it would to the live virus. The mRNA and DNA/AAV vaccines instead hijack our own cells and cause them to make a piece of the Sars-Cov-2 virus to jumpstart our immune system.
It is now clear that this process carries significant risks - and more importantly, does not lead to the breadth or longevity of immune system response as normal infection with Sars-Cov-2.

2) Duration of protection: the Covid vaccines protect for only a few months at most; other childhood vaccines, with the exception of the flu vaccine, protect for decades or a lifetime.
This difference is especially important for children, who might have to take boosters for decades (or at least until we regain our sanity, if we ever do). Further, natural immunity to the original SARS appears to last for decades - we don't know yet if that is true of SARS-COV-2, but if it is the vaccines are an even worse bet.
3) Side effect profile: the Covid vaccines have moderate to serious short-term side effects for an enormous number of people who receive them, far more than the flu vaccine or other common childhood vaccines.
They also cause medically significant heart inflammation in as many as 1 in 3,000 to 1 in 5,000 teenage boys who receive them. Given that Covid itself is little more than a cold for almost all healthy children and teens, the vaccines have a risk-benefit profile that is unacceptable for teenagers, much less children.
This is why many countries have not recommended them for people under 16. This is the current WHO recommendation for children and adolescents. They have rewritten it under political pressure, but if you read it carefully, you will see that they say children 12-15 "may be offered this vaccine" ONLY if they "are at higher risk of severe COVID-19." Basically, that means the morbidly obese and kids with severe immune deficiencies, cancer, etc.:
Vaccines are usually tested in adults first, and only later assessed in children when safety has been proven in adults, because children are still developing and growing. COVID-19 has also been a more serious and dangerous disease among older people. Now that the vaccines have been determined to be safe for adults, they are being studied in children.
WHO's Strategic Advisory Group of Experts (SAGE) has concluded that the Pfizer/BionTech vaccine is suitable for use by people aged 12 years and above. Children aged between 12 and 15 who are at higher risk of severe COVID-19 [emphasis added] may be offered this vaccine alongside other priority groups for vaccination. Vaccine trials for children are ongoing and WHO will update its recommendations when the evidence or epidemiological situation justifies a change in policy.

Thank you CaliGirl for posting that well written summary. Hits all the points that parents should be given of in order to make an informed decision for their families. It is a shame Newsom is attempting to further segregate children and deny them the education they are entitled too. Not to mention many COVID treatment therapies are being studied and found effective, safe. I'd rather my child who has a high survival rate receive treatment IF they get COVID and develop their own immunity for a lifetime than risk death or severe side effects for life (cardiac damage)from an ineffective vaccine.

I agree with with you, this is shameful to do to children.
The risk of permanent heart damage should be taken very seriously. Dr. Peter McCullough a renowned cardiologist states myocarditis is permanent. I hope parents take this into consideration.
