Code of Civil Procedure Part 3, Title 9, Chapter 5, Article 3 deals with appeals relating to judicial proceedings.
Section 1294 provides that an aggrieved party may appeal from four specified orders.
Section 1294.2 requires the appeal to be taken in the same manner as an appeal from an order or judgment in a civil action. Upon an appeal from any order or judgment under this title, the court may review the decision and any intermediate ruling, proceeding, order or decision which involves the merits or necessarily affects the order or judgment appealed from, or which substantially affects the rights of a party.
Section 1294.4 specifies that, in an appeal filed involving a claim under the Elder and Dependent Adult Civil Protection Act in which a party has been granted a preference, the court of appeal is required to issue its decision no later than 100 days after the notice of appeal is filed.
