Governor Gavin Newsom responds, ‘The attack on Charlie Kick is disgusting, vile and reprehensible’

UPDATE below: Charlie Kirk, conservative activist and founder of Turning Point USA was shot near the neck during a campus event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, on Wednesday, according to bystander accounts. During a live Q&A session, eyewitnesses say he fell from his chair as shots were fired, grabbing his neck.
California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) publicly denounced the shooting on X, stating: “The attack on Charlie Kirk is disgusting, vile, and reprehensible. In the United States of America, we must reject political violence in EVERY form.”
Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo (R) echoed Newsom’s call to reject political violence and asked for the public to pray for Charlie Kirk and his family, writing: “Please pray for Charlie Kirk and his family. This attack was sickening and heartbreaking, and there is no place —ever— for violence in American politics.
President Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, Republican leaders and top democrats, including Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi and Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries have all issued statements denouncing the attack, condemning political violence, and expressed their support for Kirk.
FBI Director Kash Patel issued a statement that the FBI is “closely monitoring reports of the tragic shooting…agents will be on the scene quickly and the FBI stands in full support of the ongoing response and investigation.”
The “tolerant” Left on Bluesky, the Democrat’s answer to X and an echo chamber of insanity and filth, were typically vile:
According to initial reports, the sniper is in custody. At the time of publishing, reports of Kirk’s condition is unknown.
“Dear God, protect Charlie in his darkest hour.” Amen.

The Associated Press confirmed that Charlie Kirk, the CEO and co-founder of Turning Point USA, has died after being shot Wednesday at an event at Utah Valley University, President Trump said.
John Solomon at Just the News confirmed that Kirk passed away.
As I posted on X, Charlie Kirk made his career via deliberative Democracy, having reasoned discussions, debating issues publicly, in proper democratic fashion, and winning over voters with ideas, and they still shot him.

If you deplore violence of any kind Mr. Newsom, stop with your violent and violence inducing rhetoric. I can easily imagine you taking the first three words out of your statement “The attack on Charlie Kirk is disgusting, vile, and reprehensible.”
Newsom is complicit in leftist violence. He releases criminals, guts law enforcement and seeks to make innocent civilians defenseless while enjoying around the clock armed security at the tax payers expense.
Newsome is the very embodiment of “disgusting, vile and reprehensible”.

I was just informed that he has died. Last night I briefly watched his show for the first time. He was a serious and articulate speaker.

We’re sick now and in grief and cannot believe that this happened. R.I.P. Charlie Kirk. He was so young, so amazingly knowledgeable, persuasive, and talented. With a young family, too, making the loss all the more painful.
And of course it is a punch in the stomach for our country until we are able to get back on our feet from this extremely painful blow.
If for even a moment you felt grateful that our governor came out and said what a governor OUGHT to be saying in the wake of such a horror, Protect Freedom is correct. Newsom spewed his violent political rhetoric only last month:

I think, the Mauser rifle left near the scene was probably not the Savannah .30-06 model portrayed in at least on newspaper. I believe though it has evidenciary value beyond what a newly minted hunting rifle have. Suffice to describe it as military rifle receiver project. Mausers are renowned because the bolt face is designed with an integral “claw” to control the cartridge as it slides off the follower of the internal magazine and enters the chamber. Hunters have long appreciated this action because it allowed for a more positive extraction (than a push feed bolt face) of empty cases as the rifle heated in battle. The advantage also applies to sportsmen who encounter game that may require more than a single shot before they become the hunted. For this reason the Mauser actions from WWll and earlier were used to build high quality rifles, by bedding the receiver in American after market stocks (barrel, scope and mounts).
The left is going to find out that this was a disastrous mistake. Those who ordered this hit are going to hang and you can bet Trump will not hold back in getting to the bottom of this. You can bet this goes to the very top of the Democrat party.
I have been crying all day thinking about Charlie’s wife and young children. I have never felt so much pain over losing a public figure to senseless violence. I think it’s because Charlie was so open to conversing with anyone about controversial topics and he did it with grace and humor. It was also because he was an unabashed follower of Jesus Christ who pointed to God at every opportunity. I know that God has a plan and can see far beyond our pain, anger and confusion. Charlie is at peace with Jesus. We need to keep praying, talking and fighting for our country. We are at war with evil in the heavenly places and on earth. God give us strength and wisdom. Please turn our nation back to you. 🙏🏼

@Erin. Although I agree wholeheartedly with your comments, the question remains as to what needs to be done with respect to the assassin. Would Charlie forgive him? Based on Charlie’s faith I would assume his answer would be YES. “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing”. However, I would have to look at it from a different perspective since this is a political assassination. That is one of DETERRENCE. So, I would have to agree with the POTUS that this killer must face the death penalty – “An eye for an eye”; which would be counter to the idea of forgiveness.
