Newsom Planning $19-Million Push to Polish HIS National Image
Newsom might as well create a Biden administration-style Disinformation Governance Board

“Newsom planning $19-million push to polish California’s national image,” the headline claims in a Los Angeles Times article.
Here, let me fix that headline for you: “Newsom planning $19-million push to polish HIS national image.”
Gov. Gavin Newsom is launching a $19 million marketing campaign March 2026 through December, approximately 9 months until the end of his term, to rewrite the history of his two calamitous terms as Governor of California solely because he is running for President.
Already, other states are not only rejecting his politics, but his wrath of destruction in California as well.
“The campaign comes as Newsom’s political future and national standing are closely tied to how voters view the state,” the LA Times says.
“Critics warn the campaign could silence legitimate concerns about state policies they say make California difficult for business.”
You don’t say.
The bottom line is, California Governor Gavin Newsom is going to abscond with $19 million of taxpayer-funds to pay for a PR campaign and advertisements to “correct” what he deems “misinformation” about California, for his presidential campaign. He’s been governor since 2019 and has had 7 years to try to clean up his act for a national audience.
Newsom might as well create a Biden administration-style Disinformation Governance Board – oh wait! He already tried.
Newsom and Democrats in the Legislature claimed last fall that they wanted to regulate social media over hate speech, but was an “anti free speech” bill, designed to silence opposing opinions. Newsom ended up vetoing the bill in October, when he already knew he was running for President.

On the $19 million marketing plan to freshen up Newsom’s image, Joel Pollak says “This is an abuse of power and, by Democrats’ own past arguments, an impeachable offense…” from the Governor who claimed on NBC, “There’s nothing I dislike more than a politician who sits there and lies to you.”
Newsom already has an attack dog, Deputy Director of Rapid Response Brandon Richards (He/Him), who the LA Times reports made $136,000 last year, and is tasked with quickly dispatching responses to information the governor’s team deems inaccurate or misleading that is spread on social media and in the media.
Newsom’s image is already so tarnished, not even Tarn-X® could fix it.
This very expensive taxpayer funded marketing plan is rich coming from the governor who let wildfires burn Pacific Palisades, Altadena and much of Malibu to the ground. The fires raged due to the incompetence of state and local officials, according to federal authorities, as well as LA firefighters.
…the governor who authorized proposed additional climate regulations which will cripple the survivability of the state’s remaining oil refineries, which will then result in California losing the entire oil industry to this misguided program by the California Air Resources Board and Democrats.
…the governor who has allowed additional state taxes, fees and regulations on gas and diesel, jet and marine fuels, bumping the price per gallon to the highest in the country.
…the governor who has spent $37 billion on homelessness since 2019, yet undercounts the homeless, according to the California Legislative Analyst’s Office 2025-2026 budget overview – and just allocated an additional $1 billion to support his homelessness programs, focused on expanding housing and behavioral health services. California has more than 337,000 homeless drug addicts, mentally-ill and convicted felons living on the streets.
…the governor who signed a bill authorizing a new California law prohibiting schools from notifying parents if their child is transgender, attempting to turn California into a “trans-sanctuary state”.
…the governor who looked the other way when $1 billion in taxpayer funds was stolen from the California Solar Program, which had promised to to cut electricity bills for low-income renters, was instead diverted to Democratic Voter Registration & Activism Efforts.
…the governor who presided over California’s failing education system, once the leading public education system in the country, now the worst performing in the country.
…the governor who wants to take over your healthcare, banning private insurance while imposing a $500 billion tax across the state.
…the governor who’s handpicked state parole board allowed a serial child rapist to be released from prison.
…the governor who has chased out hundreds to thousands of businesses, which fled to red states including Jelly Belly, Chevron, X/Twitter, Space X, Oracle, Hewlett Packard, Charles Schwab, and Toyota Motor North America, are just a few of the mega-businesses leaving California because of the state’s leftist/Marxist politics and regulatory environment. After 77 Years in California, In-N-Out moved its headquarters to Tennessee. And Valero is closing its refinery.
…the governor who supports legislation to restrict public access to information about the High-Speed Rail Project, originally estimated to cost $33 billion in 2008 with a San Francisco to Los Angeles line to open by 2028. The California high speed rail system ballooned to over $100 billion. And Gov. Newsom also approved another $20 billion for High-Speed Rail in September, with no tracks and no trains…
and
…the governor who has facilitated California to rank dead last again in Chief Executive Magazine’s Best & Worst States For Business 2025 – the 14th year in a row.
The American people deserve elected leaders who actually love America and the People. Gavin Newsom can’t spend enough on a faux “disinformation” campaign to clean up his image. His podcast certainly hasn’t helped.

On the other hand, if someone can come up with a way of making California “look good” they should win an academy award for best fictional screenplay.
Bad actors and bad acts amongst the pool of malignant politicians elected to positions of power in states in this country (and elsewhere) have nothing on Gov Gavin Newsom’s Reign of Torture and Destruction in California. “What to do to stop it now?” is always the question for those who are paying attention to the endless list of infinite ruin in California wrought by this governor who has always had his eye on the Oval Office and who is now even more energetically ramping up his plans and image-polishing using our taxpayer money — as Katy Grimes has written about here — for a 2028 Prez run. Will he be indicted in the meantime for his many crimes against the People of the State of California? Will relief for us come that way if we continue to push for it? Or should we just wait —- assuming a “clean enough” primary and general state election — until a sensible governor and statewide office holders can be elected who can begin to call the meeting to order and slowly begin to repair the damage?
