California AG Announces 72 Felony Convictions in Postal Theft and Bank Fraud Scheme, But Mail-in Ballots are Safe

‘The California Department of Justice and Secretary of State’s Office remain committed to ensuring that all elections in the state are safe, fair, and accessible’

California Attorney General Rob Bonta announced today the felony convictions of 72 individuals involved in a widespread mail theft and postal fraud operation that resulted in the theft of nearly $6 million from hundreds of people.

But don’t worry – we are supposed to believe that mail-in ballots are just fine. They are safe, as we’ve been repeatedly told.

Remember California Governor Gavin Newsom issued his 2020 executive order mandating mail-in ballots because of the Covid flu:

“to preserve public health in the face of the threat of COVID-19,
and to ensure that the November election is accessible, secure, and safe, all
Californians must be empowered to vote by mail, from the safety of their own
homes,” Newsom’s executive order said.

AG Bonta said this the following year about the importance of mail-in ballots:

“All vote-by-mail ballots come with a postage paid envelope and, as long as it is postmarked by Election Day on Sept. 14, 2021, may be validly cast at no cost to the voter through the mail. Every vote matters and both the California Department of Justice and Secretary of State’s Office remain committed to ensuring that all elections in the state are safe, fair, and accessible to every voter.”

Today we learn that the mail fraud and bank fraud scheme “was carried out by an organized criminal enterprise, and postal employees were recruited to assist.”

That’s disturbing that postal employees can be recruited to commit mail fraud.

The Attorney General continues:

They “operated out of multiple counties across California, including Los Angeles County and San Bernardino County — allegedly altered stolen checks, deposited them into bank accounts, then quickly withdrew money from ATMs before the banks discovered the checks were forged.”

“Following a complex multi-jurisdictional investigation — led by the United States Postal Investigation Services Mail Theft/Violent Crimes Team, with assistance from the California Department of Justice’s E-Crimes Unit, and local law enforcement — the defendants were indicted by a grand jury on charges of conspiracy to commit grand theft by false pretenses, forgery, and grand theft, with an aggravated white collar crime allegation. Of the 72 defendants who obtained felony convictions, 25 pled to prison sentences. Depending on the level of culpability and other sentencing factors, sentences range from between 16 months to eight years in prison.

Good for the AG. This is a big bust.

But mail-in ballots are perfectly safe.

  1. Robby is a
demonstrated communist sympathizer who has been identified by member judges of the 9th Circuit Court, for violating rights of American citizen’s under Amendment 2 of the U.S. Constitution.

  2. “postal employees were recruited to assist.”

See how easy that is? They can be recruited by Newsom and Democrats to win all elections. They can put that in place for the Prop. 50 election, to “save democracy”, of course.

    Welcome to Commiefornia.

  3. “That’s disturbing that postal employees can be recruited to commit mail fraud.”
Yeah, no kidding. You don’t have to be Sherlock Holmes to realize postal employees with dirty hands are obviously recruited to screw around with the mail-in ballots in huge huge numbers. Well at least let’s investigate that OBVIOUS angle, okay, Rob Bonta? But he doesn’t want to make the obvious connection. He doesn’t WANT to see it. And if he doesn’t want to see it, it’s not there, right, Bonta?
It’s such a JOKE that this guy is California’s Attorney General.

  4. AG Rob Bonta would never admit that mail-in ballots are just as vulnerable for fraud as Katy Grimes pointed out. He’s laughably trying to take credit for the bust when in reality it was a multi-jurisdictional investigation led by the United States Postal Investigation Services Mail Theft/Violent Crimes Team.

  5. Very slick slight of hand Bobby!
Look at the righteous things my left hand is doing, but do not look at the deceptive things my right hand is doing.
And the minions all publicize the left hand.
    Real pros these guys!
