An environmental group aligned with Cal Poly San Luis Obispo just published a map of the “Names and Locations of the Top 100 People Killing the Planet,” a serious violation of privacy and potentially threatening, particularly when reading through the comments on the article.
“The earth is not dying, it is being killed, and those who are killing it have names and addresses,” reads a quote by Utah Phillips, at the beginning of the article.
The article by “Decolonial,” was sent out by the San Luis Obispo County Youth for Environmental Action, a radical environmental group operating at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, California, a publicly-funded state university. San Luis Obispo County Youth for Environmental Action is planning a strike Friday, May 3.
The group’s Facebook page has since been removed, but said: Official page of the SLO County Youth for Climate Action. … Then we will go into a conversation on what the future of youth in San Luis Obispo County looks like, …
“The guys who run those companies – and they are mostly guys – have gotten rich on the backs of literally all life on Earth,” the article by Decolonial Atlas says. “Their business model relies on the destruction of the only home humanity has ever known.”
According to a source in a related industry, one of their now-removed Facebook posts shows them conducting a board meeting at Cal Poly in the Business building.
“They need to know that we won’t leave them alone until they agree to Keep It In The Ground,” the article says. “Not just their companies, but them. Now it’s personal.” The “Keep it In the Ground” movement claims oil production adversely impacts public health and safety, as reported in California Globe recently. A bill sponsored by a multitude of environmental justice groups, would cut the majority of oil and natural gas production in California.
California Globe contacted the Cal Poly Sustainability Department and asked for information about the university’s relationship with San Luis Obispo County Youth for Environmental Action. Sustainability Department Program Analyst Eric Veium and Team Manager Adrianna Long were contacted but did not respond to requests for information about the relationship with San Luis Obispo County Youth for Environmental Action, or the strike announced for Friday. The woman I spoke with verified that she knew the group, said her intern had been going to their meetings, and then offered the names of Veium and Long to contact.
Recently, the University did nothing when students protested the appearance of Raytheon at a campus job fair, the source said. “Raytheon has donated millions for construction of a campus engineering building, and its former President, a Cal Poly alum and major donor, was Chair of the Cal Poly Foundation. The University said it supported the students’ right to protest.”

The only actual climate danger always has been and always will be GLOBAL COOLING, which regularly plunges the planet into 100,000 yr long glacial periods. CO2, at near its lowest levels in the planet's history, is the most benign of all substances, the beginning of the food chain for all life on earth. It's tiny warming effect is entirely a boon, and far smaller than the solar variation as a driver of climate change. With this natural driver now in a profound down phase the rational expectation going forward is for cooling, not warming, and unlike warming cooling is actually dangerous.
