Long-time California Globe contributor Chris Micheli has released his book, “Handbook on California Legislative Data,” which is a compilation of his research over the years regarding items of California legislative process. Micheli is an attorney and lobbyist at his firm, Snodgrass & Micheli, and also serves as an Adjunct Professor at McGeorge School of Law and a Lecturer in Law at UC Davis King Hall School of Law.
The book contains over 40 chapters, including numerous charts of the procedural data he has tracked the past two decades, including bill introductions and gubernatorial actions. “I’ve always been a student of the California Legislature and its legislative process. Over the years, I have looked at different aspects such as vetoes and signing messages by Governors, as well as the rates of bill introductions and enactments,” Micheli explained.
“I hope this book and its data will be of value to both practitioners and academics to appreciate the work of the California Legislature,” said Micheli. The book is 145 pages in length with explanatory materials and charts that represent years of data collection by the author.
