Governor Newsom ‘Stands in Solidarity’ with Central Valley Child

This is language straight out of George Orwell’s ‘Politics and the English Language’

“Governor Newsom, First Partner join Central Valley child for 93rd annual Capitol Tree lighting ceremony,” reads the headline in Gov. Gavin Newsom’s email message about the annual tree lighting.

“Central Valley child?”

The message is made clearer:

“A cherished holiday tradition, this year marked the 41st consecutive year that California’s Governor and First Partner have hosted a child receiving support from one of California’s 21 nonprofit regional centers to light the California State Capitol Christmas Tree. Nine-year-old Carter Morris from Merced was selected by Central Valley Regional Center (CVRC) to represent the more than 450,000 Californians with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) who receive services.”

Actually, no other California governor has had a “First Partner” – it’s always  “California’s Governor and First Lady.”

Here is the story:

“Carter Morris, a nine-year-old from Merced, joined Governor Gavin Newsom and First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom to light the California State Capitol Tree. This is part of the State’s broader efforts to highlight and support kids and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.”

But wait! It gets even stranger. Read their individual messages – First is Gov. Newsom’s:

“Happy holidays, California! It was an honor to stand with Carter in solidarity with all of California’s kids with intellectual and developmental disabilities, to light the Capitol Tree this year. The holiday season is about gratitude, being together with loved ones, and giving to those less fortunate than ourselves, and I am so pleased to usher in this time of joy with Carter and his family.”

Governor Gavin Newsom

Gov. Newsom said “It was an honor to stand with Carter in solidarity with all of California’s kids.” Who stands in solidarity with a kid? That is the language of the left.

A normal human would say, “It was an honor to have Carter join us in the annual tree lighting.”

Mrs. Newsom’s message is equally weird:

“The holidays are a powerful reminder to lead with empathy and compassion, spreading joy and kindness to those around us. This year’s California State Capitol Tree Lighting was especially meaningful as we joined Carter and his family for this beautiful tradition. Standing with them, we were reminded of the strength and resilience of our communities and the importance of coming together to celebrate hope and connection during this season.”

First Partner Jennifer Seibel Newsom

The First Partner Jennifer Seibel Newsom said, “The holidays are a powerful reminder to lead with empathy and compassion, spreading joy and kindness to those around us.” She needs an annual “powerful reminder” to have empathy and compassion?

And who says Standing with them, we were reminded of the strength and resilience of our communities and the importance of coming together to celebrate hope and connection during this season.”

Did Kamala Harris write that? A normal human would have said, “The holidays are a wonderful time to enjoy with friends and family.”

What is “standing with them” “in solidarity” during the holidays? What is a “reminder to lead with empathy and compassion.”

This is language straight out of George Orwell’s “Politics and the English Language” – or straight out of a California college campus. They sound like a couple of dictators deeming to spend a few minutes with the unwashed masses of the proletariat for the annual Capitol Tree lighting ceremony. Perhaps one of their apparatchik comms staff wrote this drivel for them.

In Orwell’s essay, he says that language is used as a tool of power and that politicians and bureaucrats often use vague, abstract language to obscure their true intentions and manipulate public opinion.

The “language of the left” is the language of language handlers, and the university educated, whether Ivy League or state University. They all talk like this now, and that is because the left and the Newsoms believe the strength and resilience of our communities comes from government.

The Newsoms are robotic and appear programmed – and quite entitled.

“They have a deep sense of entitlement and see themselves as exceptional individuals who deserve admiration making it difficult to empathize with the feelings and needs of others,” according to The Psychology Of Dictators: Power, Fear, And Anxiety.

Normal humans do not talk like this. The self-centered, self-involved, vainglorious and entitled talk like this.

  1. Katy you are to something here. The Newsom’s tree lighting ceremonies are always awkward. The are commemorating the celebration of a Christian holy day which is the birth of Christ from a pagan position. It’s always going to be awkward with them. Her title tells me that they probably do not have a traditional position on the family unit. But when you have sold your souls to wokeness, power, fame and money it’s hard be genuine when you are attempting to be like normal folks.
