Journalist Matt Taibbi of Racket News, who many will remember as one of the Twitter files journalists, writes today that California Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove, (D-California) “accused me of serial sex offenses in a public hearing, then said my lack of response was ‘telling.'”

Taibbi said that Kamlager-Dove, a Democrat representing California’s 37th district in Los Angeles, during her opening remarks in a House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee hearing Tuesday, began with a comment directed at him. ‘To distract from the dumpster fire this administration is pursuing, she said, the Republicans were ‘elevating a serial sexual harrasser as their star witness.’”

Making matters worse, Taibi said right after the hearing, Kamlager-Dove re-tweeted the comment on X and BlueSky, writing, “After this, Republicans gave Matt Taibbi time to defend himself. It’s telling that he didn’t.”

Recognizing “there is not much a person like me can say to a member of Congress hiding behind the protections of the Speech and Debate clause of the Constitution,” however Taibbi said he can sue for libel because of the social media posts.

“I’ve now done so, in the form of a $10 million libel lawsuit filed today in a New Jersey federal court. From his lawsuit:

Plaintiff brings this action against Defendant Sydney Kamlager-Dove (“Defendant” or “Kamlager- Dove”) for libel arising from false statement made during a congressional hearing in Washington, D.C., which became defamatory statements as they were republished by Defendant on April 1, 2025, and republished by Defendant on the social media sites X and BlueSky, and on her official congressional website on the same date.

Defendant, a United States Representative for California’s 37th Congressional District, falsely accused Plaintiff, an award-winning journalist, bestselling author, and public figure domiciled in New Jersey, of being a “serial sexual harasser” during a televised hearing, at which Plaintiff had been invited to testify.

Defendant then reposted a video of her statements on X at 12:04 PM on April 1, 2025 as shown below:

What a vile thing for an elected member of the U.S. House of Representatives to say to someone during a hearing, on the record. Notably, Kamlager-Dove claims she is “A fierce advocate for justice and families.”

The Globe reported in March on Ms. Kamlager-Dove and her big, braggadocious potty-mouth, boasting on X/Twitter of walking out of President Donald Trump’s State of the Union:

One of California’s finest politicians really let the cat out of the bag Tuesday. Former Democrat Assemblywoman, State Senator and now Congresswoman, Rep. Sydney Kamlager-Dove admitted in front of God and the Internet that she “walked out of Trump’s Joint Address on behalf of the people of California’s 37th district.”

“There’s only so much bullshit a person can tolerate.”

Such bravery.

However, she neglected the always-important self-reflection, because only two hours earlier she admitted on camera:

“We are going to continue to fight back, and we are going to continue to speak lies to his truth, to his stealing and to his cheating.”

The women’s heads nodding behind her are rich. They don’t even flinch with Kamlager-Dove’s slip-of-the-tongue, focused on the anticipated anti-Trump hyperbole.

The Globe remembers other tongue-twisters originating from the mouth of Kamlager-Dove.

In 2019, then-Assemblywoman Kamlager-Dove (D-Los Angeles) authored a resolution to “encourage” financial institutions to stop lending to gun manufacturers and gun retailers.

“You cannot have a gun if the gun has not been made… you cannot sell a gun that has not been made,” Assemblywoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove wittily said. Watch her brief exchange with Senator Melissa Melendez, which Melendez posted to her Facebook pageonce again demonstrating Kamlager-Dove was just another member of the California Legislature unencumbered by the thought process.

Taibbi is right suing Rep. Kamlager-Dove, and says in closing, “no woman has ever accused me of engaging in sexual harrassment once, let alone serially. See you in court. Please do not evade service.”

  1. She not too bright? Her big, braggadocious potty-mouth may have really gotten her into trouble this time? She probably thinks that her Democrat Black privilege will get her out of such situations?

  2. I doubt if even bankruptcy would cause her to recognize a teaching moment. The left financiers would simply backfill her coffers.

  3. Looks like just about EVERYONE in Kamalager-Dove’s orbit thinks she is a vile witch, out of control.
She was elected how? Oh yeah, through deception and election cheating, most likely.
Well she’s really done it now in her outrageous attempts to smear Matt Taibbi (and grandstand her hatred of President Trump). Maybe she and the rest of her Smart Set will continue to “speak lies to truth.”
Oh, brother! She is on fire with cluelessness. But at least she’s nasty about it!
    So glad Taibbi is suing.

  4. The despicable action by this (typical) vile California Representative inspired me to become a paid member of Mr. Taibbi’s Racket News. I encourage everyone else to do the same.
