The California Education Code is one of 29 Codes that contain state statutes. The Education Code contains 3 Titles. There are also numerous divisions, parts, chapters, and articles containing hundreds of code sections, or individual statutes. The following is a broad overview of the Education Code.
TITLE 1. GENERAL EDUCATION CODE PROVISIONS [1 – 32500]
There is 1 Division, 21 Parts, 172 Chapters, and 353 Articles.
TITLE 2. ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY EDUCATION [33000 – 65001]
There 3 Division, 23 Parts, 141 Chapters, and 481 Articles
TITLE 3. POSTSECONDARY EDUCATION [66000 – 101149.5]
There are 6 Divisions, 38 Parts, 173 Chapters, and 430 Articles
