SF City Hall, Still ‘COVID’ Closed to Public Meetings, Opens for Getty Wedding
Gov. Newsom attends boojie affair; another French Laundry episode after hiding from public for 10 days?

With Gov. Gavin Newsom missing in action for 10-12 days, and rumors spreading like wildfire about the possibility of the governor having an adverse reaction to the COVID booster shot, it was curious to see he and Mrs. Newsom attend the huge Getty wedding over the weekend in San Francisco.
Gov. Gavin Newsom’s last public appearance was October 27th, when he received a coronavirus booster shot. Then, only two days later on October 29th, citing “family obligations,” Gov. Gavin Newsom abruptly cancelled his much anticipated trip to Scotland to attend the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference, the Globe reported.
Even more curious were the 100 photos in Vogue Magazine of the three-day affair with guests not wearing the governor’s mandated face masks (except at the wedding ceremony), or social distancing 6 feet.
The Getty wedding event venues and schedule were as follows according to Vogue:
“The wedding kicked off with a British Invasion Mod Party at The Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco on Thursday night.
“The following day, guests joined the couple for a picnic lunch at the Log Cabin on Presidio, overlooking the city—IV drips were at the ready for anyone in need of help recovering from the night before.”
“That evening, an intimate group gathered for a ceremony rehearsal at city hall, followed by an intimate dinner at Quince restaurant.”
“The wedding day started with a pajama party. ‘We have the whole mezzanine level,’ Getty explains. Ivy [Getty] got ready with cousin Vanessa Waibel and actress Anya Taylor-Joy in the penthouse suite at the Fairmont Hotel.”
“Stanlee and his team carpeted the entire rotunda of City Hall with bright teal and pink Persian rugs, completely transforming the space. ‘We draped all the archways on the second floor and first floor with turquoise and rose pink velvet drapes with 12” long gold thread fringe,’ he explains. ‘We hung in waterfall fashion off the grand staircase railings, from top to bottom, thousands of pale pink dendrobiam orchids. Large stone urns on pedestals filled with pastel roses were through the rotunda and a top the staircase.'”

Maskless at the British Invasion Mod Party, the picnic lunch at the Log Cabin on Presidio, rehearsal at city hall, and intimate dinner at Quince restaurant, “Guests were asked to mask up before Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi entered the room and took her position at the microphone.” Pelosi officiated the wedding.
“San Francisco’s City Hall is designed to inspire awe—a symbol of the city’s power and resilience after the devastating 1906 earthquake and fire, with its white marble detailing and soaring dome that looms more than 300 feet overhead,” Hamish notes. “But despite the architectural magnificence—and the panoply of state, with Nancy Pelosi officiating and Governor Newsom and Mayor Breed in attendance—the ceremony managed to feel extraordinarily intimate and personal, with Tobias’s charming vows and his passionate kiss that dislodged Ivy’s crown!”
The governor was seen in public at the Getty wedding – at San Francisco City Hall.
“Guests then piled into black cars and shuttles headed for the Getty Mansion.”
As RedState reported late Monday, “There were 99 photos included in the article, and a man who seems to be Gavin Newsom is in two of them. In one photo he’s standing next to a blonde woman who looks like his wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom.”
Perhaps the most hypocritical issue besides the governor making an appearance after being MIA for 10 days, is that the wedding was held at San Francisco City Hall, which has been closed to public meetings and public attendance …because COVID.
So why is San Francisco City Hall open to the Getty wedding but not the public wishing to participate in Board of Supervisors meetings?
Here is the San Francisco City and County order:
Due to the COVID-19 health emergency – and to protect our Board Members, Clerk’s staff, and members of the public – the Board’s Legislative Chamber and Committee Room are closed. Members of the public are encouraged to participate remotely. Please see below for each meeting’s participation/call-in information.
Members of the Board will be attending meetings remotely through videoconferencing (and by telephone if the infrastructure fails).
San Francisco city and county still does not allow the public to attend public hearings in person… 20 months after Gov. Newsom locked down the state, schools and businesses to “flatten the curve.”
But elite weddings apparently are not super spreader events at San Francisco City Hall, a public building.
At least California knows Gov. Newsom is alive and well enough to attend this spectacular wedding.
So, Twitter, is this @GavinNewsom? In the 1st pic, look to the right of the bride, to the couple in the 2nd row I think it is. Gavin and Jen, next to London Breed? In the 2nd pic, look behind the bride's dad. Bride is Ivy Getty. https://t.co/kUOcWI5NQA pic.twitter.com/tZu9HeeDJC

The Globe sent the Governor’s press secretary Daniel Lopez a request for Newsom’s public schedule for the week on Monday morning at 6:00am. We received his reply just before 6:00pm Monday evening:
“Last week Governor Newsom worked in the Capitol with staff on urgent issues including COVID-19 vaccines for kids, boosters, ports, the forthcoming state budget and California’s continued economic recovery. He will have public events this week related to the economy and vaccines.”
“Also, the Governor had no adverse reaction to his booster shot.”
We cannot locate anyone who saw the governor inside the Capitol last week.

Behold the nomeklatura.
It looks like a grand affair for the California Royalty.
Peasants, you can look from afar but remember to wear your mask, oh and please by all means stay far, far, away, ya know social distancing and all.
Curious. Pelosi officiated? I would have thought the dear Governor, who once was considered like a son to Getty, would have performed the duties.
I believe the word is “decadent”
Are you referring to that freakish wedding gown as “decadent”?
Well people.
What more do you need to see.
If the Gettys can carry on so can we.
Makes you understand the outrage that must have precipitated Bastille Day.
You’re not kidding, Full Stop.
Well, this is a new precedent being set. I think those who cannot afford an “awe inspiring” venue should demand this public house for their future wedding as well…after hours of course, when it’s closed to the public, like this one. It’s the “peoples” building after all. Thank you Nancy, Gov and the Getty clan for such a great idea! I dare you too turn us down.
