Californians Fleeing the State Ranks Among Top 5 Outbound Migration States
In 2018, California was one of the top consumer inbound destination states

Moving companies keep records of inbound and outbound migration. The Allied Van Lines Company just released its 2020 Migration Report.
California ranked as one of the top Outbound migration states:
Top Outbound States
Michigan – 63%
New Jersey – 63%
California – 60%
New York – 59%
Top Inbound States
South Carolina – 60%
Tennessee – 59%
North Carolina – 58%
Texas – 58%
Worth noting is that in 2018 California was one of the top Inbound destination states, according to Allied data.
The top five destination states in 2018 for consumers who moved with Allied in highest to lowest volume order were: Florida, Texas, California, Arizona and North Carolina. Florida has ranked as the top move destination for Allied consumers for the last five years.
By 2020, only two years later, California’s inbound migration was 40%, while its outbound migration was nearly 60%.
Allied found that even amid the coronavirus pandemic, many Americans still moved for work in 2020. “The top five destination states for Allied corporate moves in 2020 were Texas, California, Illinois, Florida and North Carolina. These five continue to be the highest volume destination states in line with trends from 2019.”
“The top corporate move destination city is Houston, TX for two years in a row. It’s no surprise that Texas, with its business-friendly climate, continues to rank as the top move destination for Allied Corporate Relocation Services customers,” Allied said.
“For consumer moves, the top destination state was Florida followed by Texas, California, Arizona and North Carolina. Austin, TX, remains the top destination city for consumers two years in a row. This year, Austin, known for outstanding food, great live music venues, outdoor lifestyle, and its general weirdness, was named America’s Best Job Market by The Wall Street Journal, the Best State Capital to Live in by WalletHub, and the Best U.S. City to be Quarantined in by DeliveryRank. Denver, CO moved up from its number three spot in 2019 to the number two spot in 2020, relegating Chicago to the number three position.”
Allied reported that people who moved from Los Angeles move to:
- Dallas, TX
- Phoenix-Mesa, AZ
- Austin-San Marcos, TX
- Seattle-Bellevue-Everett, WA
- Denver, CO
San Francisco residents leaving the City by the Bay moved to:
- Seattle-Bellevue-Everett, WA
- Austin-San Marcos, TX
- Portland – Vancouver, OR
- Denver, CO
- Washington, DC
Those leaving Sacramento moved to:
- Phoenix-Mesa, AZ
- Austin-San Marcos, TX
- Boise, ID
- Las Vegas, NV
- Portland – Vancouver, OR

Be not forlorn, you’re passport still good…..red state maps plentiful and redneck campsite folios are at your bookstore…
This coming month we throw in our much sought globalist approved Malaysian sisal packing twine for renting a super size trailer.
As always, our comfort bunker still churning out those faux Macchiato drinks while we tune up your trailer…
Democrats are losing their tax slaves. So they’ll have to import more dependants from Mexico, S America, and China to enslave them.
Everyone with intelligence is escaping the RNA instructions.
Soon Democrats will need more new graveyards.
Democrats are exporting their pro-tax voters to infect normal states. By the time the bike lanes appear it’s too late.
Based on the data provided from Allied Van Lines, it appears that people fleeing the Democrat controlled cities of Los Angeles and San Francisco are moving to other cities that are controlled by Democrats (i.e. Seattle, Austin, Denver, Portland, etc.)? They’re trading Democrat controlled cities in California that have issues for other Democrat controlled cities that also have issues and have less desirable weather?
No one said Democrats were INTELLIGENT, just PASSIONATE…
Let them leave. CA is a progressive state. One in which the rest of the country should follow.
Good to see there is still some sarcastic humor here. Why wouldn’t people in other states want the same kind of high quality Progressive power grid we have here in California where my power was out for 16 HOURS ON THANKSGIVING DAY!
California is a progressive hellhole. I was out in my neighborhood and I look and there’s all these ignorant hipsters and Latinos wearing masks. In some stores, you’re forced to wear them. How much more fear can you get. If you wearing masks, you’re either admitting vaccines don’t work, ignorant, or you’re an evil person trying to push rules on other people.
The problem is, the wrong people are leaving. We are losing our tax paying middle class who does the work and speaks English while doing it.
California is no longer a state. It’s a destination for third-world immigrants. Multiculturalism destroys community. The people whose ancestors anointed the soil with their blood, sweat, and tears, and who fought the wars, feel neither safe nor at home. There is a certain warmth and hominess that is gone. For example, I now live among foreigners who are complete strangers. I have nothing in common with these people. I miss the country I grew up in. Perhaps I can retrieve it by moving to TN, ID, TX, or another non-destination state. Mass immigration is destroying the country we once knew. However, Democrats are willing to sell the country for power. They then can fulfill their progressive agenda by gaining the votes of people who know nothing about American history, American values, or the Constitution, people who are easily frightened (by a flu virus) and manipulated, a people whose standards are lower than traditional American standards of behavior and aesthetics. It is a reversal of the Turner Thesis.
Comrade Leonard
No one in California understands exceptualism, Manifest Destiny, shining city on the hill.
They know weekend food drives, supposedly, unaffordable Dodger game tickets, reading comic books in high school classes for literature, aspiring to becoming a dope mule supervisor.
Neither this article, nor the actual report from Allied Van Lines makes much sense, because of the complete lack of explanation of what the data mean. How can California be at once one of the top destination states, and one of the top outward migration states? What do those percentages refer to? How are the rankings computed?
This is sloppy reporting, but sadly, I have come to expect that from the Globe.
If a million people leave California for another state, while at the same time a million people leave Mexico, Oregon and Washington for California it can rank #1 in both outward and inward migration. It really isn’t difficile, Pierre.
Comrade Pierre
Don’t muddle. Facts are California major cities are toilets run by Cal State Unversity “graduates” while “residents” wallow in filth fearful of the next drive by, car jack, gone wrong drug death.
Poor little thing. Did the data fly over your head like an SR-71 at mach 4?
That was a low blow about the Globe, Mr. Troll. If you don’t like the reporting, then why are you reading it?
In and out of CA makes perfect sense. There is a huge influx of people from other countries. You can see this with your own eyes. Chinese are pouring in here, as well as Mexicans, Indians, etc. etc. And tons of native born Californians (and those here for decades) are getting out of here. I envy them
And Comrade Pierre
Don’t try to hijack this expressive site like commie insanity ruined Calwstchdog.com.
What Allied Van Lines is missing are the homeless people moving into California. It doesn’t take a moving van to move marijuana and needles.
Still room for law enforcement.

The good news is the worst of the worst are simply moving to other liberal hell holes.
How badly does one have to suck to move from San Francisco to Portland?
