U.S. News ranked the 10 most dangerous states in America, and California achieves yet another embarrassing ranking – California is the 9th Most Dangerous States in America. This is significant because California has Proposition 47 in place, which in effect, made too many actual crimes, no longer crimes.
As the Globe reported, “Ten years of increased drug and serial theft crimes across California has taken its toll on the state’s residents and businesses. Because of Proposition 47, there is no accountability when it comes to these crimes, theft is underreported and some stores are even told not to report theft crimes.”
Why and how did California achieve this status?
California’s Violent Crime Rate is 499 per 100,000.
California’s Property Crime Rate is 2,343 per 100,000.
U.S. News factored in both the violent crime rate and property crime rate in each state to determine how well they foster public safety, which informs the best states for crime and corrections rankings and the overall Best States rankings.

Conversely, U.S. News also rates The 10 Safest States in the U.S.:
Notably, New Hampshire, the #1 most safest state has only 126 violent crimes per 100,000, and 1,011 property crimes per 100,00 – compared with California’s 499 Violent Crimes per 100,000, and 2,343 Property Crimes per 100,000. It’s Democrat cities in California and other states that are dangerous and not the states themselves? Just look at the lawless and crime ridden Democrat controlled cities in California like Los Angeles and San Francisco? No doubt the Democrat controlled city of Saint Louis in Missouri and the Democrat controlled city of Memphis in Tennessee are were the majority of crimes are committed in those states?
Where you have Democrats, you have crime. LA Metro had three stabbings in 24 hours.
Newsom has let out one third of the state’s prison population. Do you think crime will go up or go down doing this? Do you think voting for Democrats crime will go up or go down?
I just don’t understand how people are so stupid in this state.
PF, you hit the nail on the head.
