Former HHS Sec. Beccera Spent $22.6 Billion for Illegal Immigrants: Grants, Cash for Cars, Home Loans and Biz Startups

As Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was sworn in Thursday as U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary, with the vow to Make America Healthy Again, the Globe is wondering what rock former HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra climbed back under – or “Xavier Baccaria” as addled Joe Biden called him.

What a contrast RFK Jr. will be from Becerra.

 We questioned his appointment by the Biden administration as HHS Secretary:

And, Becerra’s appointment was purely political, as Becerra had no health related experience – he was a member of congress for 25 years before being appointed California Attorney General by Gov. Jerry Brown – which was also a strange appointment as well, as I reported in 2018 following his entanglements, as he was up to his eyeballs in the House Democratic Caucus Pakistani Awan Brothers Congressional IT Scandal. Then-Rep. Xavier Becerra was the caucus chairman when he gave a fake server to the cops in order to obstruct their investigation. (This is where Scooby Doo masterfully says “Ruh Roh.”)

Daily Caller reporter Luke Rosiak reported in 2017, “The Awans and their associates collected more than $5 million in pay from congressional offices, often drawing chief-of-staff level pay though there is reason to believe many didn’t even show up. The House’s internal probe found they logged into servers they had no affiliation with, used members’ usernames, covered their tracks, and persisted even after being fired.”

Going back a few years:

Since the January 2017 appointment of Xavier Becerra to California Attorney General by California Governor Jerry Brown, I’ve questioned why Becerra was chosen out of all of the qualified Deputy AG’s and lawyers in-state, and suggested it was to provide distance between Becerra and DC, as well as a strong offense during the investigation into his leadership role in the Congressional IT scandal and cover up.

Becerra, a sitting member of Congress since 1993, was surprisingly appointed to the California AG’s office when then-California AG Kamala Harris was elected to the U.S. Senate. Did he miss California? Not likely, since he and his wife and three daughters lived in and own a million dollar home in the D.C. area and by all accounts, were ensconced as permanent residents. (It appears the Becerra’s just this month sold their home in Maryland).

In April Becerra let slip that he was considering leaving the Biden administration to run for California Governor.

The New York Post reports Friday that under Secretary Becerra’s authority, “the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) ramped up grants for migrants from 2020 to 2024 — which included cash assistance to buy cars, homes and even build credit for startup businesses, according to a shocking watchdog report that found taxpayers were left on the hook for $22.6 billion.

“HHS’ Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) — which came under fire last year for having lost track of 32,000 migrant kids in the US — handed out the high sum to a host of nonprofits, effectively acting as a “giant magnet” for those crossing the US border and claiming asylum, auditors from the money monitor OpenTheBooks revealed exclusively to The Post.

Tasked with settling migrants, asylum seekers and other refugees in America, ORR drastically increased the number of noncitizens eligible to receive funding over the bulk of President Joe Biden’s term, with more than $10 billion shelled out to grant-receiving organizations just in fiscal year 2023.”

US taxpayers’ money and immigrant children are now missing under Becerra’s watch.

Where in the world is Xavier Becerra?

It gets worse.

The Daily Caller is reporting that one of Becerra’s top officials in the Biden administration’s Department of Health and Human Services directed millions in illegal immigrant assistance grants to nonprofits where she previously held senior positions.

According to the OpenTheBooks report:

Robin Dunn Marcos, who led HHS’s Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) under former President Joe Biden, oversaw $22.6 billion in grant distributions since 2020, with her former employers emerging as top beneficiaries. The International Rescue Committee (IRC), where she spent 23 years as a senior director, received $598 million, while Church World Service, her employer of four years, was awarded $355 million.

“Consistent with the Ethics Pledge, Robin Dunn Marcos is recused from participating in particular matters involving specific parties in which IRC is or represents a party,” a spokesperson for the Administration for Children and Families, ORR’s parent agency, told the outlet. “That recusal obligation lasts for two years from her date of appointment, which was September 11, 2022.”

“The most substantial portion of funding — $12.4 billion — went toward programs for unaccompanied minor children, even as the agency faced mounting criticism over its handling of minors in its care. Tom Homan, now President Donald Trump’s border czar, estimated that 300,000 migrant children were unaccounted for under the program’s watch, he said in a January 2023 interview with Fox News.”

This all took place while Xavier Becerra was HHS Secretary.

DOGE, Attorney General Pam Bondi – cleanup on aisle 5. A deep dive into this spending, as well as the actions by HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra and toady Ruth Marcos is in order. The billions needs to be clawed back to the American people.

Becerra should never be near government authority, or the government checkbook  again – and likely should be sharing a prison cell with other Biden administration criminals.
