Division 9, Part 1, Chapter 4 deals with spousal and child support during the pendency of support proceedings.

Section 3600 states that, during the pendency of any proceeding for dissolution of marriage or for legal separation of the parties, the court may order either spouse to pay any amount that is necessary for the support of the other spouse, or either or both parents to pay any amount necessary for the support of the child.

Section 3601 specifies that an order for child support continues in effect until the order is terminated by the court or terminates by operation of law.

Section 3602 provides that an order made pursuant to this chapter is not enforceable during any period in which the parties have reconciled and are living together.

Section 3603 allows an order made pursuant to this chapter to be modified or terminated at any time, except as to an amount that accrued before the date of the filing of the notice of motion or order to show cause to modify or terminate.

Section 3604 states that an order made pursuant to this chapter does not prejudice the rights of the parties or the child with respect to any subsequent order which may be made.
