Division 8, Part 3, Chapter 3, Article 2 of the Harbors and Navigation Code deals with administrative provisions related to harbor commissions in this state.
Section 6060 requires the commissioners to serve without salary until the yearly gross income of the district, exclusive of taxes levied, exceeds $20,000 per year, when the board may, by ordinance, fix their salaries, which cannot exceed $600 per month each.
Section 6061 requires the board to fix the compensation or salary of all subordinate officers or employees of the district.
Section 6062 requires the board to provide for a yearly audit of its books by a certified public accountant and compile a statement of its finances, which are public records.
Section 6063 requires the board to hold at least one meeting a month, at such time as is fixed by ordinance of the board. The meeting must be held within the district and be open to the public.
Section 6064 allows the district to destroy a record in compliance with existing law.
