Long-time California Globe contributor Chris Micheli has released his most recent practical guide, which is called “A Practical Guide to California’s Executive Department under the Government Code.” This is the last of his three practical guides covering the three branches of state government and the statutory provisions related to each one. Those provisions are contained in the California Government Code.
“This practical guide is on the executive branch of state government, which covers much more than the Governor and his offices, such as OPR and OES. This book includes chapters on the other seven constitutional officers, as well aspects of the state’s bureaucracy – agencies and departments,” explained Micheli. There are over 200 state agencies, departments, boards, and commissions that comprise the executive branch of state government. “This book gives the reader insights into the state laws that govern the executive branch in California,” he said.
