County Fish and Game Wardens

Deals with county fish and game wardens

Division 2, Chapter 2, Article 2 of the Fish and Game Code deals with county fish and game wardens.

Section 875 authorizes the board of supervisors of each county to appoint a suitable person to serve for a period of two years from the date of his appointment as fish and game warden of the county.

Section 876 requires the board of supervisors to fix the salary to be paid and the expenses to be allowed the county fish and game warden, which salary and expenses are to be paid from the county treasury.

Section 877 allows the board by a majority vote of its members to remove the warden at any time.

Section 878 requires the county fish and game warden to enforce the state laws relating to the protection of fish and game. The warden has the powers and authority conferred by law upon peace officers.

Section 879 requires the county fish and game warden to report quarterly to the board of supervisors, giving a detailed statement of all arrests made, convictions had and fines collected, and a general statement in regard to the management of his office.

Section 880 allows the board of supervisors of each county to appoint a deputy fish and game warden, to serve at the pleasure of the board.

Section 881 requires the deputy to have the powers, perform the duties, and receive a salary and be entitled to expenses as the board may provide.

Section 882 requires the salary and expenses of a deputy county fish and game warden to be paid from the county treasury.
