We Have the Receipts: California Assemblyman Steers $6 Million to His Own Nonprofit
$6M in the FLOOR REPORT OF THE 2026-27 BUDGET

California Assemblyman Dr. Corey Jackson (D-Moreno Valley), who received his Masters in Social Work, founded and directs the nonprofit Center Against Racism and Trauma (CART), which has only been tax-exempt since February 2022, the Globe just reported.
Assemblyman Dr. Corey Jackson also named CART, his own nonprofit, his legislative district’s “Nonprofit of the Year.”
And, Assemblyman Dr. Corey Jackson just steered $6 million of California taxpayer funding to his own nonprofit.
Here is the proof, courtesy of the FLOOR REPORT OF THE 2026-27 BUDGET:

“California quietly boosted taxpayer funding for a nonprofit founded by a sitting Assemblyman from $250,000 to $6 MILLION—a 2,300% increase. Its latest IRS return reports zero employees, zero volunteers and only $57,667 in annual expenses,” White House Correspondent and War Room co-host Natalie Winters claimed Thursday on X.
This is a textbook example of what the Globe has been reporting for years about nonprofit fraud. Only now, elected officials like Corey Jackson aren’t even hiding what they are doing.
But even more disturbing is the language: the California budget earmark for Jackson’s CART rose from $250,000 to $6 million, “placed under immigration services/vulnerable populations.”
Is the $6 million funneling through the the Stop Nick Shirley Act, Assembly Bill 2624 by Assemblywoman Mia Bonta (D-Oakland)? The language is identical.
Bonta’s bill would impose huge civil sanctions on independent investigative reporters for “harassing” what Bonta calls “immigrant services” workers who, in fact, are providing taxpayer-funded goods and services to illegal aliens.
Assemblywoman Bonta’s AB 2624 specifically states:
AB 2624, Bonta. Privacy for immigration support services providers.
This bill would, commencing October 1, 2027, similarly establish an address confidentiality program for a designated immigration support services provider, employee, or volunteer, as defined, who faces threats of violence or harassment from the public because of their affiliation with a designated immigration support services facility. This bill would additionally prohibit a person, business, or association from soliciting, selling, or trading on the internet the personal information or image of a designated immigration support services provider, employee, or volunteer with the intent described above.
Assemblyman Jackson named CART his own legislative district’s “Nonprofit of the Year” about three weeks before the $6 million amount appeared, and then voted yes on the measure.
An Instagram post from May 20, 2026, from Jackson’s account congratulated CART and Janice Rooths on the Nonprofit of the Year designation.

and this announcement:

And this example of bold race-baiting: “Feeling frustrated with the world right now? Do something about it. Join us for the 6th Annual Inland Empire Antiracist Summit. Free.”

Notably, and in case you missed this, Assemblyman Jackson also featured DSA and Marxist figures as speakers, including Angela Davis, Dolores Huerta and Ibrahim Kendi, according to his website. These folks don’t do anything for free.
If you forgot who Angela Davis is, here is a brief refresher:
Angela Davis: Frankfurt School graduate, longtime member of the Communist Party USA, and twice served as its vice-presidential candidate, Political Activist, University of California College Professor. She was a student of Frankfurt School philosopher Herbert Marcuse, the original philosopher of critical theory and a devout Marxist.
How was Assembly Corey Jackson able to do this without anyone in Assembly leadership challenging him?
The Globe will follow up and report back.
