Why Should California Taxpayers Pick Up the Tab for Kamala Harris’ Security Detail?
Harris should rely on private security – she is a private citizen now, on a book tour

As former Vice President Kamala Harris is preparing for her nationwide book tour to promote her memoir, 107 Days, President Donald Trump revoked her Secret Service protection last week.
Just prior to leaving office in January, President Joe Biden extended VP Kamala Harris’ secret service protection to 18 months from the usual 6 months.
The California Highway Patrol will reportedly step in to provide security after the state granted Harris “dignitary status” last week.
By statute, vice presidents and their families receive Secret Service protection only while in office. There is a standard six-month grace period in which the former vice president and their immediate family remain under Secret Service watch.
Presidents are entitled to lifetime protection, while vice presidents have limits on their post-office security.
“After Trump ended Harris’s Secret Service protection in a memorandum on last week, California officials scrambled to add new security for Harris. Sources told the Los Angeles Times that the CHP has been allotted to cover her,” The Examiner reported.
Friday, the LA Times reported Harris “will receive protection from the California Highway Patrol after President Trump revoked her Secret Service protection, law enforcement sources said Friday.”
Governor Gavin Newsom would need to sign off on the new arrangement with the CHP. However, Newsom would not confirm the arrangement, the LA Times said. “Our office does not comment on security arrangements,” said Izzy Gordon, a spokesperson for Newsom. “The safety of our public officials should never be subject to erratic, vindictive political impulses.”
“The decision came after Newsom’s office and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass were in discussions Thursday evening on how best to address the situation. Harris resides in the western portion of Los Angeles.”
“Without Secret Service agents at her side, Harris is expected to rely on private security teams to manage safety during public appearances. The move has triggered sharp criticism from her allies, who argue that her high profile makes her a target and that stripping protection is politically motivated.”
Harris should rely on private security – she is a private citizen now, on a book tour. Many “high-profile” people have private security detail.
President Donald Trump announced last March he was ending the ongoing Secret Service protection details assigned to Joe Biden’s adult children, which the former president had extended to July shortly before leaving office in January. Trump said there were 18 agents assigned to Hunter Biden’s protective detail while in South Africa. He said Ashley Biden had 13 agents assigned to her detail.
The President also revoked Secret Service protection from former national security adviser John Bolton, and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. Former Vice President Mike Pence did not have his secret service protection extended.

This really tears it. NOOOOO, the hard-working screwed-over-to-the-max-by-Gavin-&-Co. California taxpayers should NOT be picking up the tab for Worst Presidential Candidate Ever Kamala Harris. Will we ever live to see the day that the Worst Governor Ever Himself, Gavin Newsom, stops playing stupid retaliatory games like this? Is that a stupid question? And by the way, the California Highway Patrol is not the personal foot-servant of Gavin Newsom. Their proper function is to be on the highways doing all they can to keep the highways safe under impossible broken-down road conditions, deter and prevent people from scrolling on their phones, driving like maniacs, and driving under the influence, in addition to helping stranded motorists and showing up to do their jobs in the aftermath of our many slaughterhouse car wrecks. NOT making sure Kamala gets her Doritos and lime water as she pointlessly makes her way from one ghost-town book event to the next.

Giving Harris a protective detail would be outside of the CHP’s Dignitary Protection Section’s policy as she does not meet the criteria for other (elected) dignitary visiting the state. Of course, Gavin has proven that rules only apply to the masses and not the ruling class.

I don’t know how Lewinski lives, there are vile people who live like sultans and die in their sleep while veritable saints are persecuted. It was not my purpose to judge Lewinski in my post, I’m not a perfect person. The simularities between Harris and Lewinski is that they were seduced by powerful men, and women have a weakness for charisma, power and wealth. The differences are that Lewinki was not only scathingly denounced by clinton, but reviled and humiliated by the public as a whore. Willie gave harris a job, ignited her political career via the bay area political machine from where she eventually became vice president with only 3% voter approval, and no one cares that willie brown’s mattress is stuck to her shoe. So, in the greatly unfair court of public opinion, Lewinski was regarded as an unmitigated slut while harris at the extreme worst is an abject idiot. So unfair.
