California Lawmakers Hold Candlelight ‘Healing Circle’ because Trump

A small group of California legislators gathered on the west steps of the California State Capitol Tuesday evening to hold a “healing circle” in response to President Donald Trump’s immigration policies.

According to Capitol reporter Eytan Wallace, the event included prayers, remarks, and candlelight… and warm milk, crayons and stuffed animals.

“Several lawmakers who spoke promised to introduce legislation they say will protect immigrants, regardless of immigration status.”

“The California Legislature will be there for our immigrant community,” Assemblyman Alex Lee (D-San Jose) said.

Assemblyman Mike Gipson (D-Carson) said “Now more than ever, we must come together to organize and show this president [Trump] that we are not backing down.

Sen. Susan Rubio (D-Baldwin Park) shared her own story of deportation from when she was a child. “We do not let Trump harass, intimidate, and push our immigrant community,” she said.

If only these lawmakers showed such consideration to the legal citizens of California.

Assemblyman Bill Essayli (R-Riverside) had the right response:

Right now the only thing we need healing from is the last 4 years of the worst presidency in our history. Inflation, border invasion, crime, world wars, incompetence.

If only these lawmakers cared about how  inflation, border invasion, crime, world wars, and gross incompetence has harmed the people of California. Where is their concern for the people whose homes just burned to the ground? Or the people whose homeowners insurance has doubled? Or the massive property tax increases Californians are struggling to pay.

This political stunt demonstrates just how incompetent Democrat lawmakers are. Their insensitivity and callousness toward the people is palpable – they are prioritizing illegal aliens over the legal citizens of the state.

To help them out, here is a short list of things that matter to the legal citizens of California:

Fix California’s failing schools, lower taxes, fund police and fire, solve the drug addiction homeless crisis, close the border and stop the flow of illegal drugs, cut regulations to help businesses, build reservoirs for water storage, kill the High Speed Rail and Delta Tunnels, prioritize forest management and wildfire abatement, prepare for disasters, and take Econ 101, please.

Legitimate lawmakers focus on governing.
