Commercial Use of Reptiles

Requires the commission to establish rules and regulations for the commercial take, sale, transport, export, or import of native reptiles

California Fish and Game Code Division 5, Chapter 3 deals with the commercial use of reptiles. Section 5060 defines the term “native reptiles.”

Section 5061 requires the commission to establish rules and regulations for the commercial take, sale, transport, export, or import of native reptiles.

Section 5062 specifies that no permit is to be issued for the operation of a farm for alligators or any species of the family crocodilidae if the animals are kept for the use and sale of the meat or hides. No permit for the operation of a farm for alligators or any species of the family crocodilidae is to be renewed if the animals are kept for the use and sale of the meat or hides.
