Greenberg: America Has Spoken – It Is Time to Act Like It San Francisco

Electeds in City Hall instead of working to better our sick city, suck the life and joy out of living in San Francisco

Joe Biden and failed successor Kalama Harris are out. The White House has a new leader – President Donald Trump. Yet most if not all elected officials in San Francisco push ahead with their meetings, policy proposals, votes on ordinances and resolutions, as if nothing has changed. As if America has not fundamentally rejected radical, detrimental, dangerous Democratic leadership a mere twelve weeks ago.

But America has. The nation has learned its lesson of the insane last five years under Soros-backed DAs, of BLM and resulting race-bashing. America rejects coddling criminals and inviting of every rogue convict from countries far and wide.

Governor Gavin Newsom, once darling of San Francisco, has been quite emboldened these last couple of years, especially since surviving his recall of September 2021. He used to refer to California as a Nation-State, if you recall. But today, no amount of groveling, of fiery speeches, of justifications, finger-pointing and excuse-making can turn opinions of him positive; his failures are massively dangerous and a reflection (or instigator of) clearly bad governance plaguing our state.  His days are numbered, and with the catastrophe of Los Angeles fires, his priorities past and present (ie. Trump-proofing California), Newsom as 2028 presidential hopeful is extinguished. America will resoundingly shun him.

San Francisco now has a new, outsider mayor, sworn in January 8th. Daniel Lurie has no track record in city hall and in many ways that’s a good thing. And that he is tremendously wealthy also means he’s not seeking a bloated paycheck or tempted by special interests. Yet those he works with, those he must rely on in the city’s legislature (our Board of Supervisors,) are still acting in their old ways. As if Trump was not elected, or the nation’s voters hadn’t spoken.

Electeds in City Hall instead of working to better our sick city, suck the life and joy out of living in San Francisco. Members of the Board lay awake at night dreaming and scheming how to extract more money from taxpayers, how to grant such moneys to nonprofits which, as we all know, remain unaccountable and really don’t do much to help. NGO’s CEOs get richer.

America has spoken loud and clear. With Trump now our president, with both houses of Congress in Republican hands, and a wave of immediately enacted presidential orders on accountability, out-of-control spending, on locking down our borders, eliminating DEI, and sweeping transnational drug dealers and terrorists off the streets, the federal government is working swiftly.

Yet San Francisco’s leaders, if you watch replays of their recent weekly meetings, seem to be living as if it were eight years ago. Denying reality. They’re instead holding press conferences to “denounce” a law-and-order President. But this isn’t 2016. We’ve moved on. America has moved on.

San Francisco’s District 9 Board member Jackie Fielder, an “out” woman, put forth a resolution reaffirming San Francisco to be a Sanctuary City. Today, the eleven-member Board voted and unanimously backed her resolution. They are defying America.

Mayor Lurie, if he was smart, would remain silent, if that means to avoid confrontation with ICE enforcement operations. Or, he would clarify that there exists a very distinct separation between transnational drug dealers and the law-abiding legal immigrants. Yet today, he did not.

Unfortunately, the initial excitement over Lurie as the newest mayor is souring  – and hope is slipping away.

Elected officials can and should act swiftly on DEI and the removal of illegal alien drug dealers which make our city dangerous. Not acting is a choice. City leaders’ choice.

Ultimately, they counted on Kamala to win. It’s beyond obvious.

But Trump won, with a mandate, a platform of urgent policy change and emergency actions to be taken. He won the Presidency and won, indirectly, the two houses of Congress. The conservatives collectively have an directive for swift change.

It’s not that change is coming sometime in the future. It’s already here.

  1. Smart California politicians are in a bind because they are in a fight about immigration they cannot win. I do not include anyone in SF in the description as “smart.” There is no constituency that wants to keep illegal alien criminals in our communities, except NGO’s and the illegal foreign flag-waving immigrants themselves. Politicians who fight for them are giving away what many suspect- these illegals are far more numerous than has been revealed, bring in lots of federal and state taxpayer dollars, and are voting in large numbers.

  2. The federal government needs to “perp walk” all the illegal aliens who have been convicted of felonies. The arrests, complete with perp walk videos, should be on tv 24/7.
