Regular California Globe contributor Chris Micheli has just released his newest book, which is titled “A Practical Guide to California State Government: FAQs and Glossary of Terms.” The book contains nearly 80 short chapters and a glossary of terms and phrases with roughly 600 entries.
Micheli explained that, “the purpose of this practical guide to California state government is to provide readers with all the essential information in one place, in an easy-to-use format.” The chapters are separated under the three branches of state government, and cover numerous topics with the legislative, executive, and judicial branches.
“In this book, I used a question-and-answer format – basically frequently asked questions and their respective answers. I hope this approach allows readers to easily find the question they have with the accompanying answer,” Micheli said.
Chris Micheli has been an attorney and lobbyist in Sacramento for the past three decades and is the Principal of the Sacramento-based governmental relations firm of Snodgrass & Micheli. He serves as an Adjunct Professor of Law at McGeorge School of Law, as well as a Lecturer in Law at UC Davis King Hall School of Law.
Micheli also noted, “the second part of this book is my attempt at a comprehensive glossary of terms and phrases covering all three branches of California government. It is meant as an easy reference for those working in state government.”
