Is the California Legislature Providing Cover for Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy Parents?

California’s courts are in the thick of the case of a divorced mother who has petitioned to have her 11-year-old son castrated for a gender-transition against the will of the boy’s father. The mother, who fled Texas for California with the boy, bases her position on the claim that the biological boy identifies as female. The father says the boy is a boy when they are together.

While this case is a nasty divorce, it is also about parental control and is relevant to impending state law. While still living in Texas, the mother started the boy’s transition when he was just two years old, and his school helped out, MRC reported. “After the couple split, Younger said he would put James in little boys’ clothes to send him to school, and then the school would change him into girl clothes per his mother’s wishes. This obviously upset the father, who said his wife was clearly manipulating their young son into believing he was a girl.”

AB 1955, the bill to prohibit schools from notifying parents if their child is “gender confused,” was passed by both houses of the Legislature and went to the Governor’s office on July 3, 2024. Gov. Newsom has ten days to sign it, veto it or let it become law without his signature.

“My bet is he will let it become law without his signature,” a friend told me. Ouch. What a hot mess.

The California Legislature continues to try to replace parents with school counselors, teachers, mental health providers, abortion providers, “gender-affirming” trans care specialists, or any number of adults willing to give vaccines, feed kids drugs, provide opposite-sex hormones, authorize gender surgeries, and get them treatment for sexual violence and rape – without a parent being any the wiser.

AB 1955 has a whole host of problematic issues including violating mandatory school reporting requirements, and enables really messed up parents who not only allow a child to “transition” to the opposite sex, some parents actually promote the transitioning to the child. And this bill manages to identify and target parents who would not be supportive of the transitioning of their child to the opposite sex.

AB 1955 by Assemblyman Chris Ward (D-San Diego) “reinforces the unconstitutional notion that children, no matter how young, have privacy rights from their own parents that the state is obligated to protect,” the California Family Council explains. “Opponents, however, view the bill as a direct attack on parental rights, preventing them from helping and guiding their children when distressed with gender confusion.”

The bill actually is promoting public schools hiding important health and medical information about minor children from parents.

By taking this stance of effectively promoting gender transitioning in “gender confused” students, schools are as treacherous as the Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy parent because they are enabling. In many couples, one parent opposes the gender transitioning of a child, while the other is pushing it.

AB 1955 appears to also be a back door way to allow schools to cover for Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy, which is a mental illness and a form of child abuse, according to the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. “The caretaker of a child, most often a mother, either makes up fake symptoms or causes real symptoms to make it look like the child is sick. It feeds her ego to be involved with medical professionals in deciding the course of treatment.”

“Often, they can describe the child’s symptoms in great medical detail. They like to be very involved with the health care team and are liked by the staff for the care they give the child.”

It’s twisted and psychotic behavior. And worse, the children, if they live, are usually left sickened, disfigured, wounded and scarred mentally and physically for life.

Mt. Sinai recommends you contact a provider, the police, or child protective services if you think a child is being abused this way. However, AB 1955 provides cover for teachers and other school employees. And too many physicians, nurses and  hospitals are participating in the mutilation of children, often for the sizable profit involved in such surgical transitions and treatments. (nearly every major medical teaching hospital in the country appears to have gender surgeons and “transgender care teams”).

Assemblyman Bill Essayli (R-Riverside) fought hard to keep AB 1955 from passing, and spoke about how morally and legally wrong it is to cut parents out of the discussions over a gender confused child.

Essayli, who was attacked by Democrats for his opposition, said in the Assembly recently that school boards opposed to the bill are merely saying that parents are to be notified within three days when a child is changing their personal information on school records – a name, gender, etc… Essayli said the child is already “out” at school, so this is not an actual “outing” as the bill’s author claims.

Essayli reiterated, “nobody cares more for kids than the parents.” And “schools are a mandated reporter.”

“School districts have no right to withhold this information from parents.” And he noted that courts across the country have upheld this legal right.

So AB 1955, which prohibits a school employee from being required to disclose any information related to a student’s sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression to any other person without the student’s consent, not only sidelines mandatory reporting abused children to authorities, it does not address school employees who actively encourage students to pursue gender transitioning.

The bill effectively exempts school employees from any responsibility with gender confused and gender transitioning students – other than to allow and promote it.

And that leads back to parents, some of whom are dangerous to their own children.

Just imagine for a moment if Gov. Gavin Newsom signs the bill, or allows it to go into law. Newsom is already Governor of the illegal alien sanctuary state, and the abortion sanctuary state – will California now become Newsom’s gender transition sanctuary state?
