Kamala Harris DNC Speech: No Policy, Plenty of Pandering

‘We must be worthy of this moment’ whatever that means

Kamala Harris formally accepted the Democratic Party presidential nomination in a self-absorbed speech that made her out to be very “middle-class,” despite being raised by a college professor mother and a college professor father.

My father was a public school teacher – that was a middle class upbringing.

Harris left out of her new personal bio that her mother was a biomedical scientist at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, and worked for 16 years at McGill University Faculty of Medicine, where they lived in an upscale Toronto neighborhood.

The only reason to leave that out of her bio is if you don’t want people to know about it because it conflicts with your agenda.

Rather than laying out her positions on important policies, Harris delivered an anti-Trump speech – she failed to mentioned inflation  even once, but took jabs at Donald Trump at least 15 times.

“I promise to be a president for all Americans. You can always trust me…” Harris said, using a very tired and worn out phrase by most Democrat politicians. The more appropriate phrase would be, “I promise to be a president for all of my elite donors.”

Harris resurrected old and already proven false accusations about Trump inciting the January 6 riots. “Donald Trump tried to throw away your votes. When he failed, he sent an armed mob to the United States Capitol, where they assaulted law enforcement officers,” she said.

No, Trump did not – he tried to get then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi to authorize the National Guard to be at the January 6 rally.

“In many ways, Donald Trump is an unserious man. But the consequences, but the consequences of putting Donald Trump back in the White House are extremely serious,” she said.

When finally dipping her big toe into policy, Harris used platitudes, and no details.

“I will bring together labor and workers and small business owners and entrepreneurs and American companies to create jobs, to grow our economy, and to lower the cost of everyday needs like health care and housing and groceries,” Harris said.

“I will bring about world peace and abolish homework for all school kids,” she should have said.

Instead Harris called for the Palestinian people to be able to “realize their right to dignity, security, freedom and self-determination.” She said she would continue the U.S. alliance with Israel and “ensure Israel has the ability to defend itself” (hardly a supportive statement to an ally). Speaking out of both sides of her mouth, Harris condemned the Hamas October 7 attacks on Israel but spoke about the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza at the hands of the Israeli military.

“We will provide access to capital for small business owners and entrepreneurs and founders and protect Social Security and Medicare,” she added.

She said she would pass a middle-class tax cut “that will benefit more than 100 million Americans.”

Of course Harris promised to protect access to abortion.

Harris even had the chutzpah to claim she would sign border security legislation into law.

“We must be worthy of this moment,” Harris said, whatever that means.

Kamala Harris ended with, “And together, let us write the next great chapter in the most extraordinary story ever told.”

The “most extraordinary story ever told?”

Harris’s arrogance is reminiscent of Barack Obama’s when he won the Democratic nomination for president in 2008: “this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal …”

Here is Harris’ full speech.

  1. Harris, Democrats and their media are just full of BS and hate for Mr. Trump. This is why RFK, Manchin, Musk, Gabbard and others have left them….or, as they say, the Democrat Party left them by going radical Marxist.

  2. Kamala Harris might possibly be an even bigger a-hole than Gavin Newsom, and that is really saying something. Or, who knows, maybe it’s giving her more credit than she deserves.
Also, no kidding, the hopey-changy thing simply isn’t going to fly when you’re already in power! DUH! This probably hasn’t occurred to her single-file-line of dazed you-go-girl followers, and possibly hasn’t occurred to Klueless Kamala herself.
I recently heard “the honeymoon” succinctly summed up: “They’re just excited about being excited.”
Have to agree! The relief from the pain of candidate Sleepy Joe that happened in the switch to Kamala will soon be a memory. And the pain will return.

  3. Democrat definition of Democracy:
Eliminating a failed, low polling candidate without a primary vote from the people they represent! The will of the people is null and void.

How embarrassing and totally hypocritical of them to pretend they are the party of democracy, joy and a bright future! Let’s stay in the moment and deal with reality.
    Inflation is rampant.
Homelessness at an all time high.
Borders are wide open allowing unvetted people to enter
    Families struggling.
Wars are supported, peace is not promoted.

So Kamala et. al where is the joy in your failed policies?
We need to be unburdened by the failed Biden administration policies.
She is part of that and will only add to the American misery index if elected.

    1. I know! No matter how we look at it, the Kamala “coup” is still surreal, shocking, and unAmerican.
Good thing we know what they mean by “our Democracy.” (Hint: Full-on Marxist takeover by THEM)

  4. Showandtell and One Fed Up Cali Girl, the RFK announcement that he is dropping out and endorsing DJT just took the wind out of the Democrat sails. The Harris sugar high is over. From this point forward Harris will have to defend her past and positions…..which she will not be able to do successfully. Not even the corrupt media will be able to fully shield her. The worm has turned.

    1. Raymond, was able to see it live. A show-stopping and refreshing turn on so many levels, as you will see. Got into the weeds a bit as he was talking about his pet cause, but otherwise fascinating. A wonderful speech and event for so many reasons.
Here’s the link for those who didn’t have a chance to see it live:

      1. Yes, I watched it live as well.
RFK jr. hit on so many points that literally ails this country.

I pray that more eyes will be opened as they were during the covid era. The Pravda-esque media is the arm of the DNC and administrative state. It has been laid bare for all to see and RFK jr. made a great case.

I encourage all to watch the recording and understand why RFK jr. has thrown his support behind Donald J. Trump.

      2. Impressive talk, Showandtell. RFK jr. spoke for 50 minutes without a prompter or looking at notes?……totally off the cuff. Harris could not talk like this for 2 minutes! He knows a lot about healthcare…….Secretary of Health and Human Services, which would have made him Fauci’s boss.

    2. “….as you will see” — was meant for other interested readers, Raymond — I know you’ve seen it already. LOL

  5. RFK Jr. spoke truth today: “Democrats have become the party of war, censorship, corruption, big pharma, big tech, big ag, and big money wanting to abandon democracy…”
