Leftist UCLA Law Professor Sparks Calls for a Military Insurrection Against President Trump

‘My only hope for the US to avoid becoming an ally to Russia is a violent resistance by our military’

Safely tucked away in California academia are some dangerously unhinged professors. One UCLA law professor just posted a tweet Saturday saying that the U.S. Military must launch an insurrection against Trump in order to stop America from becoming an ally of Russia. He’s not a sociology or women’s studies prof – UCLA Criminal Law Professor Peter Arenella said the U.S. military must destroy democracy to prevent America from joining forces with an authoritarian regime, the Gateway Pundit reported.

“At this point, my only hope for the US to avoid becoming an ally to Russia is a violent resistance by our military,” he posted to X. “Tragic to say that because the military are trained to avoid any politically motivated intervention. Firing all the Joint Chief of Staff military leaders and replacing them with military acolytes of Trump anticipated that possibility and acted swiftly to minimize that type of intervention.

Ultimately, we will get what we deserve by giving Trump a second chance to destroy our democracy, he added.

Ironically perhaps, Prof. Arenella is a criminal law moral authority, according to his UCLA bio:

“He is a nationally recognized criminal law and procedure scholar, writing about the relationship between criminal and moral responsibility by exploring competing conceptions of criminal culpability and moral agency at work in immaturity and mental disability defenses (e.g., insanity, diminished capacity, mental retardation). His moral agency work in philosophical and legal journals has generated considerable commentary and is frequently cited in ongoing debates about the justifications for criminal punishment. He has also written extensively on the privilege against self incrimination and grand jury practices.”

Moral means “ethical, honest, noble, principled.”

In 2023, the Globe reported that UC Davis assistant professor of American Studies Jemma DeCristo [formerly Jeramy Decristo, now a trans woman], tweeted a very threatening post on October 10 threatening “Zionist” journalists and their kids with a cleaver and an ax:

Jemma Decristo X page.

“One group of people we have easy access to in the US is all these Zionist journalists who spread propaganda & misinformation.

They have houses with addresses, kids in school.

They can fear their bosses, but they should fear us more.”

The tweet is accompanied by images of a cleaver, an ax, and three drops of blood.

There must be something in the water in the University of California system.

In 2019, UC Davis professor Joshua Clover called for police to be killed. Following the murder by a convicted criminal of police officer Natalie Corona, 22, a rising star in the police department of Davis, California, the Globe reported:

The Aggie columnist Nick Irvin thought it might be hearsay but he began looking around on Twitter and found these tweets from professor Clover: “I am thankful that every living cop will one day be dead, some by their own hand, some by others, too many of old age,” showed up on November 27, 2014. “I mean, it’s easier to shoot cops when their backs are turned, no?” from December 27, 2014. And “People think that cops need to be reformed. They need to be killed,” posted on Jan. 31, 2016.

In similar style, the Sacramento Bee found that in 2015 Clover told the SF Weekly “People think that cops need to be reformed. They need to be killed.” In short order, the UC Davis administration condemned the statements and found it “unconscionable that anyone would condone much less appear to advocate murder.”

And this weekend we have UCLA Criminal Law Professor Peter Arenella posting a tweet saying that the U.S. Military must launch an insurrection against Trump.

Professor Arenella was savaged on X, leading him to attempt a weasle-worded backtrack.

He writes:

“To the hundreds of Trump supporters who responded to my post about military intervention: I let my anger/frustration at what the current administration is doing to Ukraine to overwhelm common sense. I should not have posted something that did not reflect any calm consideration.”

and:

“My post about how our only hope is our military intervening triggered Trash loyalists including one person who sent my post to K Patel at the FBI. I do regret the tone of that post which reflected my disgust about Trump removing vital self defense technology. Let me be clear:

1] I do not believe our military will intervene, much less violently. 2]any violent intervention would likely trigger a civil war which would hurt everyone 3]That post also reflected my disgust that no organized resistance movement[non violent] has developed.”

and

“please read my last post-I was not advocating for violence but speculating where the source of resistance to Trump et al might come from since Congress and SCT are not likely. FWIW, I agree with you that anyone who advocated such a disaster would be a fool not qualified to teach”

One X response takes some of the wind out of his sails acknowledging how many top military officers President Barack Obama fired:

UCLA Prof. Peter Arenella should be investigated and perhaps terminated for his threats against President Trump.

Notably, the Gateway Pundit addresses the approximately $900 million in direct federal funding UCLA receives for “a range of contracts and grants,” and another $200 million for overhead.

This is the only way to get the attention of deranged academia – cut their funding. Please. Now.

  1. So this law professor is rallying support for a military Coup d’état. This person does not deserve to be in their job at U.C.L.A. If there is any doubt that universities are employing Communist professors, this should put an end to that argument.

  2. It’s amazing how contrite and repetitive they become once they are caught and called out. He has no balls or brains, just tenure showing idiots everywhere how to protect oneself from their own stupidity. Make an example of him! I hope someone from Patel’s office, best if from him, pay him a very publicized visit asking for some clarification…

  3. Arrest the creep for sedition: The statutes in place and like criminal conspiracy, not difficult to prove.
