OPINION: CA Rep. Robert Garcia Praises RuPaul Rather Than Working for Californians

He views drag as an American pastime, and he thinks you should as well

Democrat Congressman Robert Garcia represents California’s 42nd district. Last week he could have and should have taken to the floor of the House of Representatives to discuss inflation, homelessness, illegal immigration, or any of the myriad issues plaguing his constituents out here in the Golden State. Alas, he chose to waste his time and our money discussing RuPaul Charles, a famous black drag queen. Garcia even pushed the envelope of propriety by invoking RuPaul’s catchphrase of “charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent,” which, if one is in the know, he/she might recognize the veiled expletive of the acronym invoked.

While RuPaul is one of the world’s most famous, successful, and talented drag queens, who is already getting more praise and money than he frankly deserves, Garcia’s proclamation on the House floor was immensely tone deaf. Garcia’s district, which encompasses part of Los Angeles County, is experiencing record breaking amounts of homelessness. Earlier this year, the county actually declared a state of emergency due to the more than 58,000 homeless people in the city. Plus, among those people the death rate has recently surged to 55%, much of which is the cause of fentanyl.

Instead of shedding light on these issues in hopes of actually saving the lives of his constituents, Garcia chose to play a political game targeted toward politicians from other states. The issue of drag queens performing in front of children has become a hot topic recently. Many Republican controlled states have proposed or even passed legislation barring children from being present during drag performances.

In response, Democrats have tried to distract the American people by calling these bans “hated filled” and “anti-LGBT”. With his praise for RuPaul, Garcia is virtue signaling that he respects and appreciates the art of drag and those who perform in it, unlike his bigoted Republican colleagues. However, Democrats like Garcia are lying by diversion from the true issue that Republicans have.

Drag is inherently linked to sexuality. It gained its popularity in adult clubs, and drag performances often include lewd humor, gestures, and costumes. Having known many drag queens personally, I know that many of the performers are under the influence of illicit and illegal substances during these performances. There is a reason one must be of legal age to gain access to the places where these shows take place. This has been the reality for decades.

Why then is it all of a sudden acceptable for minors to be exposed to this kind of adult entertainment? Young heterosexual parents feel that by bringing their children to a drag performance or a Pride parade wins them woke points. Maybe they won’t be accused of being homophobic if they let a man in a dress grind his buttocks or groin into their child’s face while lip-syncing to a lyrically explicit song. And if you think that is hyperbole, please watch the video below.

By praising and bringing national attention to a famous drag queen like RuPaul, Robert Garcia seems to be taking a stance. He views drag as an American pastime, and he thinks you should as well.

If drag is as American as baseball or apple pie, then it is suitable for all ages. Moreover, to Garcia, the success and proliferation of drag in this country is more important than homelessness and people dying of fentanyl poisoning. That is, the indoctrination and sexualization of your children is more important than your life or safety. Robert Garcia was elected to represent the best interests of the people of California, but his priority is playing politics.

  1. Do a majority of Democrat Congressman Robert Garcia’s constituents in California’s 42nd district support his radical leftist views that includes making proclamation in the legislature praising a drag queen or the fact that he’s married to a man? Probably not? California’s 42nd district is majority working-class Hispanics who are generally more conservative and hold traditional family values. How did Robert Garcia, a former college teacher who has never run a business, get elected to the 42nd District? Maybe he was installed with Democrat voter fraud and rigged voting machines? Instead of representing the majority of the constituents in the 42nd District, Robert Garcia appears to instead represent his deep-state Democrat and WEF globalist masters who installed him into office?
