Red Flags For A Noncitizen Commissioner

Wong can’t vote in elections, yet she is to be trusted to be on a committee which oversees the local electoral process

Friends, this will not be a xenophobic diatribe.

But reports of illegal aliens crossing our county’s southern border have become a daily occurrence. Fox News’ Bill Melugin has been relentlessly covering this uncontrolled inflow from the front lines with video and drone footage mostly from Texas’ Rio Grand River as individuals from around the world enter the United Statea from Mexico.

Shifting recently to California, a different story emerges, with the past few days showing an interesting and concerning statistic: the majority of migrants crossing the border at San Diego are no longer Mexican nationals. Since October 1st 2023, Colombia (28,000), China (21,000) and Mexico (18,000) claim the top nationalities spot of those seeking to live and work here, according to CBP reports. Should we be concerned?

Some say yes.

What is for sure is under President Biden’s administration, those entering the country are not vetted, not checked for Covid or communicable diseases, nor for violent criminal records or legitimate reason to unlawfully enter. Countless news stories are coming in of immigrants boarding flights at southern city’s airports bypassing the usual TSA screening methods, without ID, and passengers have reportedly been bumped from their flights to make room for immigrants’ movement deeper into America.

Showing concern over not knowing who these people are is certainly not xenophobia. It’s one thing to irrationally distrust foreigners. Especially here in California where we are a melting pot of immigrants from literally every corner of the world, which bring among other thigs language, culture, religion and foods. It’s another legitimate concern though to fear the unvetted. These crossing the border by foot are not the highly educated and skilled persons seeking to take executive-level jobs from US citizens.

But, last week, San Francisco officials swore in a Chinese national to our city’s Elections Commission. The woman, Kelly Wong, is not a US citizen and the instant uproar over this act was joined by people across the political spectrum. Wong can’t vote in elections, yet she is to be trusted to be on a committee which oversees the local electoral process including implementation of Dominion Voting Systems, the design and distribution of the ballots used by over 500,000 voters, outreach and budgeting.

In City Hall chambers during her swearing-in ceremony, she was interviewed by a reporter from local KTSF, in Chinese (mandarin).

First red flag: it has come out that Kelly Wong came to the United States just in 2019, so she’s barely entrenched in the community, by most standards. She currently serves as an immigrant’s rights activist working at an organization named Chinese for Affirmative Action. That’s red flag number two.

And then, Wong said something during another interview that struck me as being quite concerning. She stated to KQED, among her “priorities is to ensure that voter materials are translated in a way that people can understand –  for example, that there isn’t an equivalent term for the word “Reparations” in Cantonese or Mandarin. ”

What is going on here? Why is the highly toxic concept of Reparations of concern by an Elections Commission member, and now? I think it is very concerning that an individual like Wong has been brought on to a policy and implementation commission which is directly empowered with managing our democratic process. Red flag number three.

In the same KQED story, San Francisco’s Board of Supervisors president Aaron Peskin is quoted saying he hopes more individuals like Wong will come to participate in civic engagement including bringing in more noncitizens with the tools they need as they continue on the path to citizenship. Holy moly indeed. Fourth red flag.

Don’t get me wrong, there are roles for US Citizens and Green Card holders, legal immigrants who’ve honored the system and earned the right to live and work in the United States. In selecting Kelly Wong for the Elections Commission though, one must immediately ask why she had been specifically chosen over all other qualified candidates. Companies procure H1B visas for the hiring of foreign workers, while that company proves why the applicant is necessary via a statement there are no locally available individual for a highly specialized job. Was that the case with Kelly Wong? Though she is already here in the US, was her expertise and her field the winning factor to bring her aboard the commission, above all citizen-applicants? With so many red flags, we need answers.

  1. The Babylon Bee reported that in an unexpected move to strengthen and add legitimacy heading into the 2024 election season, Chinese President Xi Jinping was appointed to serve on the San Francisco Elections Commission.

Though the leader of the Chinese Communist Party is not an American citizen and many would argue that he has a vested interest in undermining and destabilizing the United States, proponents of the move hailed it as a landmark achievement for diversity and a step toward improved diplomatic relations between the two world powers.

“It’s a move that makes perfect sense,” said Board of Supervisors President Aaron Peskin. “Why wouldn’t we want the leader of a rival nation playing an important role in election here in the United States? He clearly has extensive experience in politics, and his prominent position indicates that he’s a man of integrity and would never do anything improper. Right?”

When reached for comment, Xi expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve. “Thank you for such a great honor,” he said through an interpreter. “My years of experience in secretly overseeing elections in the United States will come in handy in my new role publicly overseeing elections in the United States. Starting out small in an area like San Francisco, which is basically a Chinese province, will let me get my feet wet before I expand my influence. Also, please continue using TikTok. Thank you.”

At publishing time, authorities were investigating allegations that other members of the Elections Commission and their families had mysteriously disappeared.

  3. This reflects the bold arrogance of the leaders of a state bragging that rigged elections are none of the citizens business.

  4. Here’s all you need to know, San Franfrisco AND the rest of the state :

“The woman, Kelly Wong, is not a US citizen and the instant uproar over this act was joined by people across the political spectrum. Wong can’t vote in elections, yet she is to be trusted to be on a committee which oversees the local electoral process including implementation of Dominion Voting Systems, the design and distribution of the ballots used by over 500,000 voters, outreach and budgeting.”

Is Kelly’s real name Fang Fang, and is she another CCP “spy” that’s been embedded in California politics, much like Feinstein’s “driver” and Swalwell’s “date”???

So much for California election integrity….

Wake up people, we’re being SYTEMATICALLY disenfranchised by malfeasance in the administration of our voting platforms…. has anyone else noticed that since the SUPPOSEDLY more efficient electronic voting systems were widely implemented, our tabulation time has extended from overnight or a couple of days MAX, to WEEKS after (s)election day??? Do they need more time to print up fradulent ballots to tie-out to the final reported results, that inevitably result in the Democrat eeking out a victory, 52% to 48%????
Been that way for DECADES, now…

  5. Our neighbors are “green card” holders – legal residents, not citizens (and with no desire to become American citizens, so they say). I remember a conversation about receiving my jury summons and neighbor said “I just marked *not a citizen* and they stopped sending them”, I said “but you vote?” “yeah, of course. I live here, I have a say in the laws and who is in government”.
    Uh… no. No, you don’t.
But this is how Democrats justify non-citizens being involved in politics.
So, exactly what benefits inspire “citizenship”???
