Teen Opinion: Ode to a Hero

I am proud to be the President of a Turning Point Chapter

As I sit here writing out my thoughts, I’m experiencing a lot of emotion as I’m well aware so many of you are.

Wednesday September 10th, 2025 Mr. Charlie Kirk, a great man, a courageous man, a son, a husband, a father and a friend was murdered by a cowardly assassin.

Our nation has been in a moral decline culminating in the assassination of Mr. Charlie Kirk. We cannot let his death go without first honoring the way he lived and he did live life to the fullest.

He lived a life of faith and service and we are so very grateful.

Mr. Charlie Kirk wasn’t doing anything wrong, he was speaking to others openly and respectfully as he always did. He had no hate, no anger, even for those who hated him. Mr. Kirk went onto college campuses to not only debate but to educate and challenge students to think for themselves. He preached how we needed to get back to Judeo Christian values and to end the hate and division.

Mr. Kirk loved God, family and country, he had no hate in his heart and yet so many hated him and why? Possibly because he was speaking the truth, facts that can be backed up against others who believe the lies and vitriol being spread like cancer from fake news and Democrat politicians? Possibly because he strongly supported President Trump as I and so many others do who love our country? Was it because we love God, family and country when the left clearly hates it and defies God? Was it because he spoke up for Christians and Jews everywhere and that Israel most definitely has the right to exist? Was it because he condemned terrorists and terrorism? Was it because he defended the innocent children and the unborn? Will we ever have the answer? I don’t think so because it just doesn’t make sense. There is no reasoning or justification for violence.

What I gladly found out after his senseless murder was for all who hated him, for all these sick and evil individuals celebrating his murder, there are thousands more who loved him including me. There are thousands of people across our country mourning him and paying their respects.

Mr. Kirk spoke about how the left is hateful and dangerous and we all have either seen it or experienced it ourselves firsthand. Because Mr. Kirk was such a proponent for free speech they have decided they had the right to silence him, they murdered him in cold blood. What became so broken in our society, in the human race that shows no humanity? What gives Democrats and their liberal followers the right to end the lives of others for exercising free speech and then to celebrate it? No one has that right. Democrat politicians who promoted hate and violence against conservatives are now condemning his assassination. How can they condemn his murder when they are the ones responsible for it? Because they are hypocrites. In history it has never been a conservative who feels it is acceptable to end the lives of innocent people.

One of the huge differences between our parties is we don’t celebrate the death of others, we mourn death. We don’t murder those with a different political opinion, we discuss ourdifferences. If this evil act happened to one of them we would pray for them and mourn with them. For anyone to celebrate Mr. Kirk’s death or any death is not just mental illness it is nothing less than evil. We must not become them by giving into violence and hate, Mr. Kirk would never want that.

This isn’t a gun control issue like the Democrats are now suggesting for their own selfish political reasons, this is a fight against evil. Conservatives don’t kill, we preach the word of God and Judeo Christian values. We don’t hate, we try to unite as others try to divide us and that’s exactly what Mr. Kirk did, he united us. A coward ended the life of Mr. Kirk but they will never end his legacy, the work he did and the impact he made.

As Conservatives we can also honor Mr. Kirk by not giving into the hate and violence. Don’t let their hatred change you and we can’t let our anger push us to the violence we deplore. We are the party of peace, they are the party of hate and violence, we cannot allow ourselves to become like them, we cannot let them break us.

I am proud to be the President of a Turning Point USA Chapter. I am proud to never stop fighting for the rights of others and holding on to the hope that people turn to God for the truth knowing we are all God’s children, we are all loved and we are never alone.

I am proud to hereby announce I plan to start speaking out on college campuses to honor Mr. Kirk and his passion for educating others. I will never stop and we will never stop. Thousands of Mr. Kirk’s supporters are now carrying on where he left off, they are speaking out. This assassin, this coward didn’t scare us, he didn’t stop us or even slow us down, he ignited us. We are now stronger, louder and more powerful than ever before. We stand united in our faith, our morals and ethics and that’s what makes us Conservatives.

Mrs Kirk must go on without the love of her life and raise their beautiful children without their father. They will remain strong in their faith and know one day they will be together again in heaven but until then they will carry on and live for him and honor his memory as we all should do. We must be the change, the Turning Point and ask ourselves at what cost is there peace and unity? No one has the right to cause the blood shed of others in order to express our differences. Only we can make a difference if we work together and say no more to hate and violence. We are so much more than that.

It is up to each and every one of us to continue the work Mr. Kirk started and I believe that is exactly what he would want us to do, we will be his voice. A coward assassinated him but it will never silence him, his voice lives on. Thank you to Mr. Charlie Kirk for your work, your truth, your kindness, your passion and sadly for your ultimate sacrifice for our country. Thank you Mrs. Erika Kirk and all your family for your sacrifice and for making our country a better place. We will pray for you, we will honor you and we will carry on for you.

Mr. Charlie Kirk’s name will go down in history as the Hero he was. God Bless you all.

  2. Dearest Jordan,
You give me much hope for the future just as Charlie Kirk has for the past 10 years.
Light attracts light and I am happy to see you have joined Turning Point USA.
I will keep you in my prayers as you continue the mission Charlie Kirk began.
Charlie Kirk will live on through his wife and children and through TPUSA.
I believe with faith and courage Charlie Kirk’s vision will be accomplished through great young people like yourself. I look forward to following you as I always look forward to reading your insightful opinions!
Be the Ester of these trying times!
    God Bless Charlie Kirk.
    God Bless Jordan Brace!

    1. Thank you so very much ma’am. Mr. Kirk inspired me as well and always will along with Mrs. Kirk. I believe in faith and courage too and that’s exactly what Mr. Kirk exhibited every day as does his wife. I will continue to write and speak out and I am honored to be able to do so. God bless you and your loved ones always.

    2. Thank you so very much, I am truly honored by your faith in me. Thank you so very much for your kind words and your prayers. I will keep you in mine as well and hopefully carry on my small part of TPUSA. God bless you and your loved ones always.

  3. Charlie Kirk was a true Christian, and upheld Christian values. Like Christ, he did not hate those who hated him.

Jordan, I am so glad to hear you will be carrying the torch of Charlie’s legacy, and speaking out at campuses on his behalf. We now know how important that is.

  4. @Jordan Brace, it was very difficult but spellbinding for me listening to Erika speak about Charlie from Turning Point this evening. It occurred to me as she spoke, that she is as strong or perhaps even stronger compared to Charlie in her faith. She will turn her grief into determination and make Turning Point bigger. This is exactly what America needs to defeat the evil that has corrupted our educational system, poisoned our youth and infiltrated our institutions both public and private. Erika will build and army of people like you, to expand the work that Charlie has started. Turning Point will become more influential than ever in its mission. Therefore, as tragic and abhorrent the loss of Charlie Kirk to an assassin’s bullet is, I believe that we should take solace in the belief that Charlie’s death is part of God’s plan to save America. Take Care and God Bless.

    1. I agree @Raymond. Erika in her time of great grief was able to show resolve and bring comfort to those that share the cause of TPUSA. She is the right woman to take his chair at the table.
What a great leader she will be for students such as Jordan.
May we all keep her and her children in our prayers.

      1. Yes, @OneFedUpCaliGirl. I did not follow Charlie or TPUSA closely. I mainly heard about him and Turning Point through conservative media and his confrontations with leftists and their media. But Charlie’s influence clearly goes far beyond our borders as there are now large vigils and peaceful protests across the globe as a tribute to Charlie. I suspect that his level of influence is far greater than most of his friends and enemies could have imagined and the reason that the ENEMY had him killed him. What is happening now in the UK and elsewhere, with thousands of marchers supporting Charlie’s cause, should give us HOPE. God’s plan is being implemented and change is coming. Have a great day.

        1. Yes!
The enemy has no idea what they have unleashed.
I did watch Charlie’s daily pod cast show. My husband and I also supported TPUSA.
I really wanted to attend his Amerifest. He not only was transforming the youth but older adults as well.
Charlie inspired me to chase ballots by phone calls and texts in 2024.
His legacy will continue to inspire for years to come. His wife, Erika will make sure of it.
          Have a blessed day @Raymond

  5. Dear Jordan –
The aspirations of Charlie Kirk live on because of your Faith and Courage to carry his torch of Truth and Freedom. We suffer a range of emotions over losing him by such a violent public act, especially knowing that his loving wife and young children live on without him.
Charlie’s message was guided through the Holy Spirit as it now refreshes the souls of millions thirsting for personal and national salvation.

“The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer. My God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge, my Savior—You save me from violence.”

  6. Wonderful article! You, at your age, have done (and will do) what many adults decades your senior will not: you display authentic courage and conviction. May God guide your paths and bless your voice. And please use these words often: “God, tell me what you want me to see and what you want me to hear; and tell me what you want me to do and what you want me to say.” Amen…
