The Nov. 4 Special General Election … ‘In Response to Texas’
We are absolutely the worst governed state in the U.S. – but there IS a solution

I’ve never laughed out loud reading the first line of a ballot proposal, and I mean NEVER!
But I did this time because this is how the California Legislature and Gov. Gavin Newsom describe their reasoning to eliminate 5 Calif Republican Members of Congress:
“Prop 50 – Authorizes temporary changes to congressional district maps IN RESPONSE TO TEXAS PARTISAN REDISTRICTING”!
Honest — that’s how it reads.
My response?
“Hey Gov. Newsom and the Legislature’s Democrat members who passed this in our Capitol – and spending $ 20 million of our taxes to hold this special election: As California politicians, how about you folks doing some of this “in response to Texas”?
- Income Tax – zero, nada in Texas – How about doing something like THAT “in response to Texas?”
- Sales tax – Texas 6.5%; Calif 7.5%. How about doing something like THAT “in response to Texas?”
- DMV – Texas vehicle $ 80-90/year, including pickups. Calif -for my 6-year-old car $300+. How about doing something like THAT “in response to Texas”?
- Gasoline- Unleaded in Texas $ 2.70/ Premium $ 3.50; Do I need to remind us? Calif unleaded $4.65; Premium $ 5.06. How about doing something like THAT “in response to Texas”?
We are absolutely the worst governed state in the U.S. – but there IS a solution.
For now: Vote NO on Prop 50 when your ballot arrives in early October — that’s the only item on the ballot that you will receive shortly.
Then, after this November’s election, I’ll share with you a system to draw districts — Congress, Assembly, State Senate — by simply honoring city and county lines – the less you break those boundaries, the better and more honest the plan. Any machine can do that without enhancing one party or the other’s prospects.
REMEMBER: — Vote NO on Prop 50 (your ‘live’ ballot arriving shortly in your mail) and tell everyone you know at work, family, & neighbors to do the same, especially since our Legislature and Governor won’t respond to any of the other wonderful policies in Texas!!

Didn’t Newsom complain about the cost of the recall initiative of him? That it was a waste of tax payer money?
This initiative isn’t a waste of money though. Funny how that works.
I received our voter pamphlet today. The only thing that went through my mind as I threw it in the trash was “what a waste of precious funds that our poor (Calaveras) county can ill afford”…
Got it right here on my coffee table. So, today’s project is to cut along obvious lines with Templar, my Wiss Inlaid scissors. With a few staples it’ll make 6 perfect coffee table coasters.
It’s ridiculous and a monumental waste of California taxpayer funds by Newsom and Democrats. We received our ballots in the mail along with a ballot addressed to someone with a Hispanic surname who has never lived at our address. There is going to be a lot of Democrat voting fraud with this special election.
VOTE NO on Prop 50 – send a message to Newsom that we’re not participating in his Trump Derangement Syndrome, along with Rob (“Robin”) Bonta…
