Why is Gov. Newsom Giving $90 Million in Taxpayer Funds to Planned Parenthood?

The ghouls in pink and their payola made sure that it paid off handsomely

Last week, California Governor Gavin Newsom proudly signed SB 106 into law, directing another $90 million in “emergency funding” to abortion provider Planned Parenthood. This is after giving Planned Parenthood $140 million in October 2025 to keep 109 abortion clinics open after the Trump administration budget prohibited Planned Parenthood from receiving Medicaid reimbursement for services.

SB 106 was fast-tracked through the Legislature after the federal budget cuts.

It was a party-like event at the bill signing. Even Mrs. Newsom, who prefers “First Partner,” got into the spirit. She pushed the governor aside to have her moment in front of the camera as she lashed out at the Capitol press members for not asking abortion-related questions at the Planned Parenthood press conference.

“I find it incredulous that we have Planned Parenthood here, and women are 51% of the population, and the majority of these questions, all of these questions have been about other issues,” the First Partner said. “This happens over and over and over again. And we wonder why we have such a horrific war on women in this country and these guys are getting away with it. Because you guys don’t seem to care.”

Ah, the old “such a horrific war on women.”

“You guys don’t seem to care,” Siebel Newsom carped at the working media covering the press conference. She gave a very blasé performance.

Gov. Newsom doesn’t give the Capitol Press Corps many chances to ask him anything, so when he does hold an occasional press conference, they are going to barrage him with questions he may not want to answer.

The party-like atmosphere was memorialized on the Governor’s website where lawmakers and Planned Parenthood representatives all wore pink, the color celebrating the birth of baby girls, ironically.

What is so interesting is that Jodi Hicks, CEO & President of Planned Parenthood, standing next to the governor as he signed the bill, and next to the First Partner as she blasted the media, is married to Paul Mitchell, Gov. Newsom’s redistricting map creator tasked with creating five new Democratic members of Congress.

And Governor Newsom just gave her another $90 million. Wow.

In 2024, Gov. Newsom had a DNC-style rally in Los Angeles, and invited potty mouth leaders of Planned Parenthood, the California Teachers Association, SEIU CA, Senator Adam Schiff, and other Democrat politicians to speak, all praising abortion, big labor, big teacher labor… Oh, and redistricting, as an after thought.

The Globe reported, It was comical to hear Jodi Hicks, CEO & President of Planned Parenthood say “we are doubling down on our values here in California,” and then whine that Planned Parenthood has had their federal funding cut. She was the only speaker to mention “redistricting” up front, but she did it in the context of the “anti-choice justices appointed to the Supreme Court.”

“You take away our freedom; we’ll take away your seats,” Hicks threatened Republicans.

Whatever. A new governor can cut your funding.

The Governor who shut down California’s beaches and legendary tourist attractions, churches, bars and restaurants for three years as a response to the COVID pandemic, created an Abortion Sanctuary State in 2022 in the middle of the lockdowns, and has been promoting abortion tourism to California, inviting tourists to visit California and get an abortion if their own state has abortion restrictions, the Globe reported in 2022.

Gov. Gavin Newsom now provides taxpayer funds to help out-of-state residents obtain abortions, as well as legalized infanticide, which the ghouls in pink call “reproductive health.”

But the more important question is, Why is Gov. Newsom giving an additional $90 million taxpayer funds to Planned Parenthood?

Did you vote for that?

The California Family Council reports that Planned Parenthood has given California Legislators and Governor Gavin Newsom a total of $1,593,565 over the last decade in campaign donations, gifts, independent expenditures and/or travel expenses. That’s a lot of payola.

“Maybe that explains why lawmakers moved $90 million to the organization in a matter of days, without a traditional committee hearing process and without restrictions preventing the funds from indirectly supporting political activity,” CFC said.

Gov. Newsom proudly lists all of the Planned Parenthood bills he has signed since the Supreme Court’s Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision, which Newsom calls stepping up to protect reproductive freedom.

  • September 2025: Governor Newsom signed legislation to safeguard access to abortions, including AB 260, allowing health care providers to prescribe abortion care medication to patients anonymously, and AB 1525, helping to shield attorneys assisting other states with access to abortion from State Bar discipline.
  • June 2025: The 25-26 budget expanded the authority of CalRx to purchase brand-name drugs. This change gives the state more tools to respond to supply chain disruptions, market manipulation, or politically motivated restrictions that could threaten access to essential medications — including medication used for abortions.
  • May 2024: Governor Newsom signed SB 233 with the Legislative Women’s Caucus, allowing Arizona abortion providers to temporarily provide abortion care to patients from Arizona who travel to California for care following the Arizona Supreme Court’s ruling to reimpose a regressive 1864 law imposing a near-total abortion ban in their state.
  • January 2024: The Reproductive Freedom Alliance, led by Governor Newsom, filed an amicus curiae brief with the U.S. Supreme Court in the case of Food and Drug Administration, et al., v. Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine, arguing that, if the Court allowed the Fifth Circuit’s decision rejecting FDA’s approval of mifepristone to stand, it would undermine Governors’ ability to provide adequate healthcare services and would have far-reaching implications beyond reproductive healthcare. The Supreme Court sided with the FDA in June 2024.
  • April 2023: Governor Newsom procured an emergency stockpile of Misoprostol, as legal challenges continue to move through the courts to block abortion medication.
  • March 2023: Governor Newsom joined 13 other Governors in calling on major pharmacies to clarify plans for dispensing Mifepristone and other actions they plan to take to safeguard access to abortion drugs.
  • February 2023: Governor Newsom launched the Reproductive Freedom Alliance, an Abortion coalition of 23 Governors.
  • November 2022: Voters pass Governor Newsom and the Legislature’s Proposition 1, an amendment to the state constitution to enshrine the right to abortion.
  • September 2022:
    • Governor Newsom launched Abortion.CA.Gov to ensure people across California, and the country, can access essential information regarding abortions, including resources available to support access to care.
    • Governor Newsom, working with the Legislature, ensured California passed the largest abortion bill package in state history, building firewalls around California as a reproductive freedom state.
  • June 2022:
    • Governor Newsom signed legislation to help protect patients and providers in California against radical attempts by other states to extend their anti-abortion laws into California, on the same day Roe v. Wade was overturned.
    • California invested over $200 million in abortion health care.
    • Issued an Executive Order protecting state-held data and information from being used by out-of-state anti-abortion entities to target providers and patients.
    • Joined the Governors of Oregon and Washington to launch a new Multi-State Commitment to defend access to abortions and protect patients and providers.

The ghouls in pink and their payola made sure that it paid off handsomely.

Wow. That’s a very sick person, that Jodi Hicks, speaking on behalf of a very sick group of women legislators and one gruesome governor invoking “freedom,” right? Jodi Hicks, half of a “power couple,” the other half the silly reckless Paul Mitchell who drew those funky illegal maps to grab more of the same kinds of horrific “freedoms,” right?
Who else feels like gagging whenever they see this tableau of blood-stained women CELEBRATING because they’ve procured more gushers of cash to kill babies and mutilate children with? Who actually HURT women by pushing this stuff as if it’s good and, by the way, acting giddy with glee while doing it? “Ghouls” —- no kidding.
Then you have the preposterous “First Wifey,” Jennifer Seibel Newsom, not exactly someone with her finger on the pulse of California women, as we well know, grabbing the microphone in the most annoying way possible, Miss Chutzpah on Steroids, ranting about absurdities that sent her captive mostly female press audience rushing to post on X about how clueless and offensive her comments were.
At least Gruesome had the decency to look annoyed when she headed for center stage to make her comments. For the first time ever I almost felt bad for him, married to that attention-starved harridan. Almost.
