California’s Public Health Doctors Are Violating Hippocratic Oath, ‘First, Do No Harm’

How much are taxpayers paying for California’s bad COVID science?

By Katy Grimes, December 10, 2020 9:02 am

In Gov. Gavin Newsom’s California business owners are fined and arrested for being open and doing business, while convicted criminals are let out of jails and prisons. Public health doctors, while not in a medical practice, must still adhere to “Primum non nocere,” the Latin phrase that means “first, do no harm.”

But they aren’t.

Lockdowns are killing people, destroying businesses, and harming the state’s children who aren’t attending school because of the ordered closures.

Dr. Mark Ghaly, Gov. Newsom’s appointed Health and Human Services Secretary, who is now issuing statewide lockdown orders on the governor’s behalf, is well compensated in his state employment, perhaps explaining why it appears he will say anything, and has admitted that science is not behind his or the governor’s decisions, assumptions are. Ghaly and Newsom tried to tell Californians not to hold Thanksgiving celebrations, and claimed that people would gather together in their homes and would spread the virus.

Without any evidence other than ramping up COVID testing, the Governor and Dr. Ghaly ordered nearly all of California to be locked down until Christmas.

The COVID PCR tests “are being used incorrectly, resulting in the false appearance of widespread transmission,” Dr. Joseph Mercola reported recently. “In reality, the vast majority of people who end up with a positive test will not develop symptoms and aren’t infectious. Needless to say, if you’re not infectious, you pose no health risk to anyone, and being placed under what amounts to house arrest is nothing but cruel and unusual punishment for no reason whatsoever.”

The COVID tests are pre-programmed to provide false-positive results?

An article in Newsweek discussed the governor’s $100 million new lab in Los Angeles, and its “bad test results” in the first week: “A brand new $120 million California COVID-19 testing lab has received ‘a higher number than expected’ of bad test results, leaving millions of patients waiting days for results the state vowed to return within 24 to 48 hours.”

Additionally as NBC Los Angeles reported, “Although the lab was estimated at $25 million, Newsom said the state actually invested $100 million in upfront costs for the facility, including the building and scientific equipment inside. He said the contract with PerkinElmer includes provisions for reimbursement, with $5.51 of every test conducted set aside to pay for the state’s upfront costs.”

This is known as a kickback.

A KCRA segment regarding the contract between the state and PerkinElmer revealed that the lab is expected to net PerkinElmer $270 million. The cost to state: $700 million to $1.6 billion.

The state contract is for 14 months.

The Globe has reported the professional recommendations of many qualified epidemiologists, virologists, and infectious disease specialists, which the Governor and Dr. Ghaly continue to ignore.

James Enstrom, Ph.D., a retired research professor of epidemiology at UCLA, recently reported on/exposed Los Angeles County health officer, Dr. Muntu Davis, another Harvard School of Public Health graduate. “Forty million California residents have been living under Gov. Gavin Newsom’s statewide lockdown order since March 19,” Enstrom wrote. “This lockdown order—which was the first in the nation—was based on Newsom’s assessment of the health risks of COVID-19.”

“In Los Angeles County, 10 million residents are in lockdown, which was implemented at the county level by a series of health orders issued by the county health officer, Dr. Muntu Davis.

Enstrom’s op ed focuses on one church defying the Los Angeles County ban, Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, a suburb of Los Angeles:

The church’s leader, Pastor John MacArthur, agreed to voluntarily comply with the March lockdown restrictions because of the original dire predictions of massive COVID-19 cases and deaths in California.

It became clear after four months that these predictions were wrong, and that the virus was not nearly as dangerous as originally feared. However, the restrictions continued to drag on indefinitely and were undermining the ability of the church to function properly.

On July 24, the Grace Community Church board decided to reopen the church, as explained in a detailed statement, titled “Christ, Not Caesar, Is Head of the Church: A Biblical Case for the Church’s Duty to Remain Open.”

Enstrom reported that “the church determined that the health order was illegitimate, over-broad, and unconstitutional, because it indefinitely prevented the congregation from assembling and exercising its religion and sincerely held religious beliefs.”

Rather than consider the Constitution church’s legal position, “”Los Angeles County counsel, Mary Wickham, and five senior county council attorneys, acting on behalf of Dr. Davis, had a law firm, Miller Barondess LLP, issue a cease and desist letter on July 29, warning MacArthur that violating state and county health orders is “a crime punishable by a fine of up to $1,000 and imprisonment of up to 90 days.”

The letter was reinforced by a 97-page complaint for “violation of emergency health orders.”

Enstrom said:

I have challenged the public health validity of the cease and desist letter and the complaint by documenting the inaccuracy of the following claim:

By holding indoor services for hundreds of persons during this pandemic, you are placing the health and safety of not only the persons attending the service, but also the community at large at risk.

This unsubstantiated claim is contradicted by the fact that this health-conscious, low-risk church congregation has had no reported illness or death due to COVID-19.

Enstrom sent a letter on Sept. 18 to Dr. Muntu Davis, describing “key evidence of the health benefits of regular church attendance. “Davis has refused to respond to my letter in spite of my numerous attempts made directly to him and to other county health officials, Miller Barondess, and the county council.”

Enstrom warns: “rather than supporting an unconstitutional and oppressive legal complaint against the church based on invalid health claims, Davis needs to modify the current county health order to allow indoor worship services at this church.”

Dr. Muntu Davis has a rich compensation package:

Regular pay: $351,654.00
Overtime pay: $0.00
Other pay: $41,453.00
Total pay: $393,107.00
Benefits: $101,850.00
Total pay & benefits: $494,957.00

Enstrom says this reopening strategy is described in the Great Barrington Declaration, now signed by over 10,000 public health scientists, which states:

As infectious disease epidemiologists and public health scientists, we have grave concerns about the damaging physical and mental health impacts of the prevailing COVID-19 policies, and recommend an approach we call focused protection.

Coming from both the left and right, and around the world, we have devoted our careers to protecting people. Current lockdown policies are producing devastating effects on short and long-term public health …

The most compassionate approach that balances the risks and benefits of reaching herd immunity is to allow those who are at minimal risk of death to live their lives normally to build up immunity to the virus through natural infection, while better protecting those who are at highest risk.

“Rather than condemning the Great Barrington Declaration and ignoring thousands of public health scientists, including me, Davis must objectively and promptly act in response to the overall health evidence that justifies reopening low-risk churches, like Grace Community Church,” Enstrom said.

Transparent California reports on Dr. Ghaly’s salary and benefits.

Dr. Mark Ghaly, Secretary of the California Health and Human Services:

Dr. Mark Ghaly received his M.D. degree from Harvard Medical School, and his M.P.H. from the Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Ghaly completed his residency training in Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco.

Ghaly’s wife, Dr. Christina Ghaly, is the Director for the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services, brings home more bacon than her husband:

Overtime pay: $0.00
Other pay: $78,219.00
Total pay: $516,698.00

Dr. Barbara Ferrer, the well-compensated Los Angeles County Director of Health, is not a medical doctor, but supports lockdowns:

Regular pay: $351,654.00
Overtime pay: $0.00
Other pay: $41,453.00
Total pay: $393,107.00
Benefits: $101,850.00
Total pay & benefits: $494,957.00

The Harvard school of public health has her bio: Dr. Ferrer received her Ph.D. in Social Welfare from Brandeis University, a Master of Arts in Public Health from Boston University, a Master of Arts in Education from University of Massachusetts, Boston, and a Bachelor of Arts in Community Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

  1. A new low from our own public health officer, fake doctor and doomsayer Barbara Ferrer. See below. This struck me as the dirtiest trick of all although I’m sure it will elicit sympathy for her and make villains of the skeptics. And it was deployed, by the way, in the midst of the latest, massive, Boy-Who-Cried-Wolf attempt to trigger a public panic, and during the holiday season, to top it all off.

Never mind the facts! Never mind including numbers you have been leaving out! Never mind neglecting to mention that annual seasonal flu is now called COVID! Never mind treatment options! Never mind the devastation you are responsible for! Thanks a lot for everything, ‘Dr.’ Ferrer, from the people who live and try to work in the County of Los Angeles.

Meanwhile want to offer a sincere and non-sarcastic thank you to Katy Grimes for this article, which hits the nail squarely on the head. Appreciate you.

  2. Actually, the words you quoted (English version: “First, do not harm.”) are NOT in the Hippocratic Oath. Instead, they are from an earlier “book” by Hippocrates, in which he described what physicians should do when confronted with an epidemic.

    You can Google it.

  3. Comrades
You’re going down the tubes and we karp about liberal pap philosophy. This Vax policy is going sideways, teachers hiding in their closets, kids losing one year of education and social b.s., food lines on ABC channels replacing car jacking and DUI murders.
Urban life in Calif. sucks as always, but the obvious is finally crystal clear, politicians must be banned in favor of documented proven private industry leaders….this current crop of politicians are slime unworthy of even citizenship.

  4. There is probably many a good honest unselfish person with the proper leadership qualities would step up and lead us out of this sticky mess. Nowadays, there is considerable risk for the leader to help us, not just for him , but for family and friends.

  5. This is a psyop – that’s why you keep seeing places like Harvard School of Public Health (Dr. Muntu Davis) – these “doctors” go to intelligence agency recruiting schools which pick them up regardless of competence and then emplace them into key positions such as Los Angeles County – this is the true structure of our society: glass ceilings for those who aren’t chosen by the intelligence agencies. When the intelligence community runs a fake epidemic to promote whatever geoplolitical and social agendas they have then they command their cronies such as Davies to lie to the public. That’s what’s actually going on.

  6. I emailed 3 CA Senators, with true studies/articles proving that vaccines are unsafe, have seriously injured/killed millions over the years, all over the world, and to please not mandate them. Only one of the 3 Senators actually read my email, and replied saying vaccines are all safe, and have helped to stop many disease outbreaks around the world. I won’t mention any names, but this same lying Senator tried to scare all of us homeschooling parents in later 90’s, early 2000’s, saying it was illegal, so gov would get their $7-10 k per student in public schools. Homeschooling was/is still very legal, so I prayed, and prayed every day/night, and thanking our LORD the gov left us alone, and for helping us through! To God be all the glory, and praying for His mercy to help us all through this, everything else, and may God bless and keep you all, too. Psalm 91, Revelation 14:7

  7. These a-holes each make half a million,a year???

To do WHAT exactly? Ruin our lives to pay themselves???

Time for a little French Revolution action….

  8. And what about the PCR deception? By hiding the Ct (cycle threshold) of the PCR tests, they are creating a false sense of fear. Cases used to be a combination of symptoms and clinical diagnosis. It’s criminal, there needs to be lawsuits and FOIA pushes to get the PCR Ct published
