“Voters do not like this – these closed door meetings by Adam Schiff. This is just a coup against the President.” Lara Trump
Immediately after the House vote Thursday on the impeachment inquiry, the Trump Victory 2020 team held a conference call for media, with 2020 Campaign Senior Advisor Lara Trump, and Trump Victory Director of Regional Communications Rick Gorka. California Globe was invited to be on the call.
“The House passing the resolution doesn’t change anything,” Lara Trump said. “It’s a sham, a hoax. Donald Trump looks strong – especially against the Democrat candidates.”
Lara Trump said the President is strong because “promises made, promises kept,” and the 6.5 million jobs created since 2016, 500,000 manufacturing jobs, and millions more jobs for women.
“The country is better because of it, but these are partisan politics at work,” Trump said.
Trump said the American people wonder what their elected representatives are actually doing in Washington D.C. “They are doing nothing for them,” she said. “It’s going to look bad for them in 2020.”
Trump predicts that this Impeachment inquiry will backfire on Democrats. “Voters do not like this – these closed door meetings by Adam Schiff. This is just a coup against the President.”
“At the Trump campaign, we feel very strong,” Lara Trump said. “People want to fight back for the President. They see this as the hoax it is.”
“This is all about removing President Trump because they can’t get over that he won in 2016,” Rick Gorka said.
As for polling, Gorka said voters would rather see Joe Biden investigated than President Trump. Campaign polling finds the President is up by 3 points since Nancy Pelosi’s impeachment inquiry, Gorka said.
Lara Trump said voters will remember how these Democrats chose to side with those dividing the country, and addressed the “hidden voter.” She said of the many women who did not vote for Donald Trump in 2016, will come out and vote for him in 2020. “They won’t talk about it or tell anyone,” she said, but they will vote for Trump because he kept his promises – an issue found to be important to women voters.
“President Trump has broken a lot of boundaries,” Lara Trump said. “This is uncharted territory however you look at it.”
Lara Trump said the Trump campaign is ready for anything. “The Democrats will stop at nothing to get him out of the White House,” she said. “They will try something after this. We will be ready for it.”
