Doctors Challenge Contra Costa Public Health Officials: One Doc Gets ‘Removed,’ Two Reprimanded

MDs got too close to the truth?

By Katy Grimes, December 22, 2020 10:43 am

Three John Muir Hospital physicians recently sent a letter to Dr. Chris Farnitano, Contra Costa Public Health Doctor, challenging several crucial issues surrounding the state and county health officials’ handling the COVID-19 virus in California, and the data being manipulated to keep Californians in lockdown.

A source in Contra County County says Dr. Farnitano never responded to the doctors directly. She also said John Muir Hospital let one of the doctors go and reprimanded the other two this week.

“We feel the science is clear that more lockdowns lead to much more non covid morbidity and mortality as supported by the CDC,” Dr. Michael deBoisblanc, Dr. Pete Mazolewski and Dr. Brian Hopkins said in the letter.

KTVU reported that Dr. Michael deBoisblanc’s “career experienced an almost immediate negative impact once the letter went public. He had been the Trauma Medical Director for John Muir Health. But Friday, John Muir sent a statement which read in part, ‘The Medical Director of Trauma and Regional Transfer Services is a contracted position and, after careful consideration, John Muir Health is not continuing with Dr. deBoisblanc in that position.'”

Despite the Orwellian language, Dr. Michael deBoisblanc was at the very least demoted, and may have been terminated for daring to question the county’s manipulations of COVID data.

With the population of Contra Costa County at 1,156,530, the Contra Costa County Public Health Agency reports:

  • 754,541 COVID tests have been administered
  • 35,322 positive “cases”
  • 298 deaths
  • 28,448 “recovered”
  • which means 719,219 Contra Costa County residents have tested negative for COVID-19.

At issue for the doctors is the excessive COVID PCR testing leading to high numbers of false positive results.

The source explains:

“Results from a positive PCR test should be considered as a preliminary result only and doesn’t determine an active infection or  hospitalization rates. Doctors typically order these tests when a patient shows symptoms and the doctor suspects the patient has a high probability of having the disease. Once a result comes back positive, it must be confirmed with another test in order to be considered definitive.

The concern with Covid screening is that none of these steps are taken. A positive PCR has little clinical significance and increases our case numbers without confirming the presence of an active infection. Without the expertise of a physician and a confirmatory assay there is no way to determine if this is a true positive result.”

As the Globe just reported, We know that Gov. Gavin Newsom and CHHS Secretary Dr. Mark Ghaly conflate positivity of coronavirus “cases” with actual illnesses to keep California in a state of panic and lockdown. A “case” is not a “case” unless someone is sick with the virus in the hospital, or has died as a result of COVID-19.

The doctors say in their letter that they have normal ICU and hospital winter surges at their hospital, and the hospital numbers on the Contra Costa County COVID website “show essentially a stable ICU occupancy from July 1st to today.”

“We handle these surges every winter,” they said.

The doctors say public policy is being based on erroneous numbers and assumptions.

They also challenge the lockdowns, and subsequent health issues.

The doctors ask Dr. Farnitano how the county is accounting for the high number of false positive COVID tests with the county tiering system. They ask what data supports the closure of gyms and outdoor dining. And they want to know why the public health agency is ignoring medical experts who recommend opening schools, as children are not significant vectors of the disease.

With all of these important questions, one doctor was terminated from the position of Trauma Medical Director, and we are told the other two were reprimanded by John Muir Hospital.

COVID-19 PCR Tests

Every PCR kit comes with a package insert that outlines the procedure as well as FDA recommended guidelines.   PCR is not FDA approved for screening and results are only approved if an MD suspects Covid.  PCR Covid kits are not approved for contact tracing, the source shared.

The source, who asked for anonymity, shared the Abbott labs PCR test insert (below) which is included in every PCR test kit. “Notice the complexity of the procedure with risk of cross contamination. I’m not sure how sensitivity and specificity is maintained testing several thousand specimens/day.   These procedures were never designed for the massive screening being done currently in CA.”

“PCR has been used by public health for 20 years, they are well aware of this limitation,” she said.

“Under INTENDED USE, PCR is intended for patients who are suspected of COVID-19 by their health care providers. Under LIMITATION OF PROCEDURE, results should be interpreted by a trained professional in conjunction with patient’s history and clinical signs and symptoms and epidemiological risk factors. Intended Use and Limitations of Procedure confirm PCR assays are not approved for screening or contact tracing.”

“Abbott Labs Package Insert on testing guidelines on their laboratory test for COVID-19 make it very clear there are limitations to the PCR test, and that a positive result must be evaluated by a trained professional, in conjunction with patient history, clinical signs and symptoms.  It is apparent that Public Health agencies are not following the manufactures’ testing guidelines when they do community wide screenings, which puts these case numbers into further question and castes doubt on Newsom’s Blue Print.”

All of this adds up to an attempt to boost numbers and create an artificial hospital usage wave, likely for the purpose of continuing to govern California under a state of emergency.

Maybe these MDs got too close to the truth to explain their current status.

As for Dr. Michael deBoisblanc’s career, “All of these orders have been based on strong science and good data,” said John Gioia, the 1st Dist. supervisor for Contra Costa County. “They are citing data that our health department believes is not reflective of accurate current thinking.”

  1. Katy thank you for the information on the PCR tests. I did not know they are not FDA approved for screening and not approved for contact tracing. You also seem to be the only one reporting on negative test results for COVID.

  2. These doctors posed very logical, fact based questions that NO ONE wants to answer. Thanks for putting this out there, Katy. I sure hope this MD files a whistleblower lawsuit or wrongful termination against JMMC.
The state of CA states that we are short of MD’s and nurses during this “crises”, but had no trouble firing this one for speaking out.

  3. Now that I think about it, it sounds just like China. The Chinese scientist who discovered the COVID virus in 2019 was killed after he tried to expose the truth…….In, Chinafornia we kill by economic devastation, that doctor will never find another job………

  4. This bears repeating :

“A “case” is not a “case” unless someone is sick with the virus in the hospital, or has died as a result of COVID-19.”

    Read that again :

“A “case” is not a “case” unless someone is sick with the virus in the hospital, or has died as a result of COVID-19.”

We are being PLAYED FOR SHEEP, people!!!

    Recall this jackass Governor NOW!!!

  5. The Corona Thing is an intelligence operation – a National Security lie just like “Weapons of Mass Destruction” having nothing to do with the public interest. The Public Health Director of Contra Costa County is going to be a National Security Shill no matter what – the reason: Standard Oil. Truth doesn’t matter. These “doctors” are learning the hard way that they are not part of the intelligence agency insider elite who have handlers and have been instructed to lie to the public.

  6. “The Party told you to reject all evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.”

When they control all of the power of the Federal government, who will question the Party?
