Former U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer Robbed in Oakland, After Democrats ‘Defund Police’

Former U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer was robbed in Oakland, CA, the notorious city ranked in the top five for in crime in the country, and number#2 in the state, and where poor citizens receive universal basic income checks.

Crime is so prevalent in California now that even prominent politicians are getting attacked and robbed in broad daylight.

Sadly, Boxer is now a victim of the policies by her own political party.

On the heels of a deadly July 4th weekend in Los Angeles city and county where 16 people were killed, and in Oakland where there were seven shootings, two deaths and a huge sideshow described as “12 hours of nonstop chaos” by the Oakland police Chief, Legislative Democrats brought a bill out of the inactive file that reduces penalties for criminals convicted of the most heinous crimes, the Globe recently reported.

The Oakland City Council approved a budget in June that will strip $17.4 million in funding from the Oakland Police Department and direct the money toward other programs, CBS Local reported. The budget also cut 50 police officers.

Oakland, ranked number#2 in The Most Dangerous Cities In California For 2021 list, with an overall crime rate 150% higher than the national average, a murder happening every five days on average. Close neighboring city Emeryville ranked number#1 with the most property crimes in the state.

Responses to Boxer’s Tweet were interesting:

“I feel bad for Barbara Boxer because she was assaulted… but this is the world she set up for the rest of us to enjoy… not very nice is it?”

Perhaps the most interesting was this Tweet, reminding Boxer of her claims of “violence in Trump’s America…”

The Daily Mail UK reported:

Boxer said both her attacker and the getaway driver appeared to be under the age of 18. She notes that she even addressed the pair directly before they fled.

‘I said: “Why would you do this to a grandma?” I was yelling at the kid as he was running with my phone,’ she told KPIX. ‘I said: “I want to call my grandkids, why are you doing this?” He could care less. He got in the car. But I hope he has some guilt.’

In a statement obtained by ABC 7, a spokesperson for Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf said the mayor was ‘deeply troubled’ to learn of Boxer’s assault and robbery.

Most interesting is the FBI graph below showing how crime in California had dropped, then began to rise again after 2014 – the year Proposition 47 was passed, and then Proposition 57 in 2016.

Proposition 47 largely decriminalized theft and drug crimes by reducing those crimes and a number of other “non-violent” felonies to misdemeanors; Prop. 57 allows early release for “non-violent offenders,” including rape by intoxication of an unconscious person, human trafficking involving a sex act with minors, arson causing great bodily harm, drive-by shooting, assault with a deadly weapon, and hostage taking.

Barbara Boxer, who is now 80, served in the U.S. Senate from 1993 to 2017, was a U.S. Representative from California 1983-1993, and on the Marin County Board of Supervisors 1976-1982.

  1. Only a cell phone? Well, whatever it takes to cut down this slimy social warrior politician, who did much more damage than theft of a cell phone.

  2. Libby “FEELS” bad,,,,,,,,,priceless! Libby and Barbara “feel” bad behind their gated houses.
Common sense must not interfere with ones feelings after all!
Can’t fix stupid, but you can vote for it!
Go Raiders, oh yeah the went!
    Good work Libby!

  3. BOXER: “I said, why would you do this to a grandma?”
She has always been clueless —- I guess nothing has changed now that she is 80 years old.
Either that or she is making up her remarks after-the-fact and playing Drama Queen for her friends and relatives. Who knows?
But will this incident wake her up to what is happening in our filthy, crime-and-vagrant-ridden hellhole cities that have been trashed by her and her fellow left-wing Democrat politicians?
    Don’t hold your breath.

  4. Why does Boxer refer to herself in the third-person on her Twitter feed???

    Asking for a friend….

  5. The media should be celebrating the redistribution of wealth. This is the world they wanted and now they have it.

  6. Hey Libby Schaaf! Hey Barbara Boxer! How is this “Defund the Police” working for you two and the rest of the Democrat pukes who despise our Law Enforcement?

  7. All the precursors that led to this ‘assault’ on Babs are a result of her Party’s policies.
If I could say something to her today I would say “You sowed the wind Ma’am, and have now reaped the whirlwind. Congratulations”.

  8. Is Oakland offering $5000 in rewards on the other victims of crime cases, or just for the specially treated Boxer? Are social workers responding to Boxer’s call? Or does the defunded police only respond for “important” people like Boxer? DemocRAT victims of crime need to be treated like those unvaxed citizens they abhor. It’s called poetic justice and getting a taste of your own medicine.
