Gov. Newsom State of the State Address Tuesday Evening, from Somewhere in Los Angeles County
The ‘virtual presentation’ will be at Dodger Stadium

Governor Gavin Newsom announced that he will deliver his third State of the State Address Tuesday March 9th in the evening in a “virtual presentation” to the California Legislature from Los Angeles County…. away from the State Capitol… away from most of the Capitol Press Corps… away from the prying eyes of the public.
However, do not fret – the governor will be offering “a LIVESTREAM @CAgovernor Twitter page, California Governor Facebook page and California Governor YouTube page.”
“There will not be a media availability,” according to his press statement.
“The event is open to credentialed media only,” the governor’s press release said. That means that most of the usual gaggle of Capitol Press Corp members, who live and work in Sacramento in order to cover the State Capitol, the Legislature and Governor, will also be watching the livestream.
After one entire year of remote governor’s press conferences under the auspices of COVID distancing and “safety,” with telephone-access-only for questions of the governor (most of which are never granted), this is the governor who wants another year of emergency powers and ruling by executive orders.
“Credentialed members of the press interested in attending must RSVP to govpressoffice@gov.ca.gov by 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 7 – no exceptions. Members of the press will receive an email early next week with details for the event and information on public health and physical distancing requirements for covering the event.”
“Newsom just asked for another year of emergency powers,” Mike Netter, RecallGavin2020 Coalition Founding Member, said Sunday at a press conference. “He’s used executive powers to override state bidding processes, to grant no-bid contracts.” He added, “there are more than 100 no-bid contracts Gov. Newsom has directed to his biggest donors.”
Tuesday Gov. Gavin Newsom will be ducking again, away from the press, away from the Legislature, away from the public. It’s too bad Los Angeles restaurants aren’t open yet for inside dining or Gov. Newsom might slum it at “Cut” by Wolfgang Puck, with an average price of $230 per person. Sadly, “CUT Beverly Hills is temporarily closed,” the website says.

When is the appeal on Kevin Kiley’s lawsuit against Newsom going to be settled?
Good question
They had to give him a venue large enough where he won’t be distracted by Recall Gavin supporters on large bull horns! No media present so he can continue to brainwash the public with his lies and not be questioned about his ludicrous science claims. I no longer listen to him to keep my blood pressure from rising and wait for Katy Grimes to give me the scoop. Plus I cannot stand to see him with his shirt unbuttoned and his gross grey chest hairs coming out. I WOULD watch if I knew a helicopter was going to fly over to drown him out and drop millions of masks over the stadium to further muffle the noise coming out of his mouth. California dreaming…….
HA HA! Funny…. because it’s true.
You go, Stacy. What you say is true. I can’T stand looking at the man or hearing his lying tongue.
Ha,Ha..
Stacy, I too share in your dream.
Helicopter pilots, are you out there?
I understand its at the Dodger stadium so someone lock themselves in the announcers booth and crank up the jam!! he says nothing about going forward and opening us back up only the same BS!
Maybe blast the Dodger Stadium organist playing “96 Tears.”
Our rights are not granted by Newsom. Time to ignore him completely, and OPEN OPEN OPEN.
Cuomo got called out for Nursing Home deaths; Whitmer is facing criminal charges for Nursing Home deaths; and Newsom issued the same orders. He’s dangerous, and so is Richard Pan (State Senator). Pan wants to nullify medical exemptions for the vax (an experimental mRNA software program, not a vax). He’s been pushing Pharma since pre-2015 and is responsible for children being vaxxed to the hilt.
This from the local news ahead of Newsom’s address:
“In his third [and last, emphasis added] State of the State address, Gov. Gavin Newsom will tell exhausted Californians that the coronavirus pandemic “will end soon,” but when it does, “we’re not going back to normal.”
“Normal was never good enough. Normal accepts inequity,” Newsom will say, according to excerpts of his speech released by the governor’s office.”
What were we saying all along. The end game here is to end democracy as we know it. This guy has absolutely no intention of returning California to any semblance of normal as long as he is in office. Time for every one, absolutely every one to take notice and vote in the recall. California GOP do not squander this opportunity by overplaying your hand. Get us a moderate electable sane candidate and we will support him. Don’t give us the GOP equivalent of this guy.
As a kid, my dad made me listen to Pete Wilson’s “state of the state” in 1994. We debated it for hours. Sadly, the LATimes only cares about Kamala’s Latest Pantsuit.
Sounds wonderful, that as a kid you debated the State of the State for hours with your dad. Today’s L.A. Times is definitely a poor substitute for that.
Kinda wish we could have live-blogged this Newsom speech somehow. Wanting to ‘meet the moment.’
I’m listening to it live on the radio. It’s total nonsense of course, but he seems very nervous. He definitely has Recall on his mind. Meanwhile, we who want to recall him are partisan naysayers and doomsayers, he says. Or was it doomsdayers? Well, whatever we are, he won’t be distracted by us!
Stacy should be happy to know I’m hearing a lot of helicopters.
Showandtell, don’t forget we are neanderthals as well. Glad to hear he was nervous, he should be. I am just logging on now to read what idiotic things he said tonight. Wonder if he had two masks on?
