As of March, the private sector lost 110,609 jobs while government added 21,000 jobs, according to a report in the Orange County Register, April 19, 2020
- The overall mortality rate from coronavirus in California as of May 14 is 0.01% (1/100 of 1 percent) per total population (3,032/39.5 million).
- The mortality rate of those hospitalized for coronavirus is 70 percent.
- 5 percent of all deaths are those age 50 and over who are mostly not working
- Seniors living in nursing homes are 1% of the population but comprise 39% of all C-19 deaths – PPIC, link here.
