Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg announced in January he was endorsing Joe Biden for President of the United States.

Steinberg joins Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti in support of Biden. Notably, Steinberg’s announcement of Biden came after his first choice, U.S. Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA), dropped out of the race.

“Throughout my career, I’ve seen Joe Biden unite people in common cause to deliver real solutions for families struggling with kitchen table issues. From expanding affordable housing to access to quality health care, I know Joe has the experience and know-how to bridge divides and build a brighter future at a crossroads moment for our country. Californians rejected Donald Trump to the tune of four million votes, and, with Joe, we can finally put an end to his cynical attacks on our state, its people and it’s progress.  I’m proud to endorse Joe for President — he’ll be a leader for all Americans.”

Steinberg, “the Mayor for all of Sacramento,” is the the 56th mayor of Sacramento, California since December 2016. Prior to running for Mayor, he was California Senate President pro Tempore and the leader of the majority party in the California State Senate from 2008 to 2014.

Steinberg was a Democratic member of the California State Senate representing the 6th District. He had also previously served as a member of the California State Assembly (1998–2004) and as a member of the Sacramento City Council (1992–1998).

California’s Primary is Tuesday March 3, 2020.

  1. Guess Darrell is running to be Biden’s running mate?
Otherwise, not a surprise, a loser backing a loser.
Might want to address that Sacramento homeless/vagrant thing, Steinberg.
In a meaningful way, not an empty just-collecting-dollars way.
