Definitions for the Enforcement of Judgments Law
Defines ‘chattel paper’ to have the same meaning as provided in the Commercial Code

In the Code of Civil Procedure, Part 2, Title 9 deals with the enforcement of judgments in civil actions. Division 1, Chapter 1 provides a short title and definitions.
Section 680.010 notes that this title is the Enforcement of Judgments Law.
Section 680.110 specifies that, the definitions in this chapter govern the construction of this title.
Section 680.120 defines “account debtor” to have the same meaning as provided in the Commercial Code.
Section 680.130 defines “account receivable” to have the same meaning as provided in the Commercial Code.
Section 680.135 defines “affidavit of identity.
Section 680.140 defines “chattel paper” to have the same meaning as provided in the Commercial Code.
Section 680.145 defines “child support” as including family support.
Section 680.150 defines “costs” to mean costs and disbursements.
Section 680.160 defines “court” to mean the court where the judgment sought to be enforced was entered.
Section 680.170 defines “deposit account” to have the same meaning as provided in the Commercial Code.
Section 680.180 defines “document of title” to have the same meaning as provided for in the Commercial Code.
Section 680.190 defines “equity” as the fair market value of the interest of the judgment debtor in property.
Section 680.200 defines “financial institution” to mean a state or national bank, credit union, etc.
Section 680.210 defines “general intangibles” to have the same meaning as provided for in the Commercial Code.
Section 680.220 defines “instrument” to have the same meaning as provided in the Commercial Code.
Section 680.230 defines “judgment” as a judgment, order, or decree from a court.
Section 680.240 defines “judgment creditor” to mean the person in whose favor a judgment is rendered.
Section 680.250 defines “judgment debtor” to mean the person against whom a judgment is rendered.
Section 680.260 defines “levying officer” to mean the sheriff or marshal.
Section 680.270 defines “money judgment” to mean that part of a judgment that requires the payment of money.
Section 680.280 defines “person” to include individuals and businesses.
Section 680.290 defines “personal property” to mean both tangible and intangible personal property.
Section 680.300 defines “principal amount of the judgment” to mean the total amount of the judgment as entered or as last renewed, together with the costs added to the judgment, reduced by any partial satisfactions of such amount and costs and by any amounts no longer enforceable.
Section 680.310 defines “property” to mean real and personal property and any interest.
Section 680.320 defines “real property” to mean any right in real property, including but not limited to a leasehold interest in real property.
Section 680.330 defines “registered process server” to mean a person registered as a process server pursuant to the Business and Professions Code.
Section 680.340 defines “secured party” to have the same meaning as provided in the Commercial Code.
Section 680.345 defines “security” to have the same meaning as provided in the Commercial Code.
Section 680.350 defines “security agreement” to have the same meaning as provided in the Commercial Code.
Section 680.360 defines “security interest” to have the same meaning as provided in the Commercial Code.”
Section 680.365 defines “spousal support” to include support for a former spouse.
Section 680.370 defines “tangible personal property” to include chattel paper, documents of title, instruments, securities, and money.
Section 680.380 defines “writ” to include four types of writs.
