Young Kim set to win CD 39
She Leads Gil Cisneros by 4,000 Votes

On track to becoming the first Korean-American woman ever elected to the U.S. House of representatives, Republican Young Kim leads Democrat Gil Cisneros by nearly 4,000 votes.
As the current line stands, Kim is cast with 51.3 percent of the votes at 76,956 and Cisneros with 48.7 percent of the votes at 73,077.
The two candidates are fighting over California’s competitive 39th district where the Orange County registrar has noted up to 300,000 votes still needed to be counted.
The 55 year old South Korean immigrant is trying to fill the void of retiring Republican Ed Royce who she worked for and looked up to for roughly 20 years before transitioning into the state assembly.
Similar to other tight Congressional Districts such as CD 10 and CD 48, CD 39 was won by Hilary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election which has given Democrats a more than fighting chance in a normally consistent Republican region.
