Scott Weiner’s ‘Hero’ Endorses Another: She Knows He’ll Lose
The old lioness smelled blood in the water and chose Chan as less radioactive option

Nancy Pelosi just delivered the ultimate San Francisco slap in the face. The 86-year-old Speaker Emerita, fresh off announcing her retirement after nearly 40 years in Congress, endorsed Supervisor Connie Chan to succeed her in California’s 11th District instead of the man who once called her his “hero”: State Sen. Scott Wiener, the current polling front-runner by double digits.
There’s no long-standing beef between the two San Francisco leftist elites; it’s just pure, cold political math. Wiener may be crushing it in the June top-two primary inside the progressive bubble, but Pelosi knows what every sane Democrat fears: in a general election, this guy is electoral poison. His rap sheet of scandals, developer coziness, and unhinged trans extremism makes him exactly the kind of liability that turns swing voters into Republicans. And such extremism is exhibited best in the state legislation he has championed while serving in the California state Senate.
Let’s start with the trans obsession, because that’s where Wiener truly shines as San Francisco’s gift to the culture war. He authored SB 107, the 2022 law making California a “sanctuary state” for transgender minors fleeing parental consent laws in red states. Families can now shop for puberty blockers and surgeries without fear of prosecution or losing custody. He doubled down with SB 497 in 2025, shielding gender-affirming medical records from subpoenas.
He pushed SB 145 to “end discrimination” in the sex offender registry. Apparently judges shouldn’t have to automatically register 19-year-olds for consensual oral sex with 17-year-old boyfriends while giving straight couples a pass. Critics called it the “pedophile bill”, but Wiener and Equality California insisted it was just fairness.
Then there’s SB 934, his latest masterpiece: a bill that lets “victims of conversion therapy” sue therapists years later for trying to help kids accept biological reality. In April 2026, detransitioner Jonni Skinner, a 23-year-old gay man who says childhood hormones left him unable to have an orgasm, confronted Wiener directly at a hearing. Wiener fidgeted, stone-faced, then voted yes anyway.
And when lesbian singer Tish Hyman described being attacked in a women’s Gold’s Gym locker room by a self-identified trans woman with a domestic violence history, Wiener didn’t give a damn and simply responded that “Trans women are women.” Women’s safety is secondary to the ideology and the progressive religion that Weiner professes.
But the trans stuff is just the cherry on top of Wiener’s scandal sundae. As a San Francisco supervisor, he was accused of being a “corporate Democrat” who raked in real estate cash while pushing policies that fueled Ellis Act evictions and gentrification. Over 1,000 families were displaced during his tenure.
Pelosi may be senile, but she is a shrewd politician. She knows San Francisco’s far-left fever dream plays great on social media and in faculty lounges and among the insane lot of progressives who like his policies, but it dies in a general election. Wiener may cruise to first in the primary, but Chan gives her a shot at locking down second place and keeping the seat safely blue. The old lioness smelled the blood in the water and chose the less radioactive option. She sees what the rest of California already knows: Scott Wiener’s brand of “progress” isn’t just unpopular, it’s unelectable. The scandals, the extremism, the inability to read a room outside the Castro— all of it makes him a walking general-election disaster.
Pelosi just did what pragmatic Democrats do when the woke wing gets too loud: she cut her losses and endorsed someone who won’t torch the seat and her legacy along with it. Wiener can keep calling her his hero, but she clearly doesn’t return the sentiment.
And California continues to SUFFER under the influence of the Pelosi cancer…
At least this article calls out the receipts of the freakshow that is Scott Weiner….
