The chart provides a listing of the types of information that is available on the California ‘LegInfo’ website

The following chart provides a listing of the types of information that is available on the California “LegInfo” website for legislation:

Topic Explanation
Text Complete text of bills with annotations to identify material added/removed due to amendments
History Chronological listing of legislative activity for each bill (where the bill was heard, if amended, approved, etc.)
Status Current location of a bill and pending action
Analyses Staff reports describing the history and impact of the legislation and arguments of the groups supporting and opposing the bill
Comments to Author Members of the public can submit comments to the author of the legislation
Compare Versions Allows the reader to compare the introduced version of the measure to all subsequent versions (amended, enrolled, and chaptered)
Status Provides the status of where the measure is currently located
Today’s Law As Amended Allow the reader to compare existing law to the changes being proposed to be made by the legislation
Votes Record of votes in committee and on the floor
Vetoes Text of Governor’s veto message
