Uniform Acts in California Law

Uniform acts are standardized statutes used among the states to ensure consistency

Like most other states, the California Legislature has occasionally enacted “uniform acts,” which are standardized statutes that are used among the states to ensure consistency in their provisions and how these statutes are utilized.

The following are some examples of uniform acts that exist in California’s 29 Codes:

Code of Civil Procedure Sections 874.311 to 874.323 – Uniform Partition of Heirs Property Act

Health and Safety Code Sections 7150 to 7151.40 – Uniform Anatomical Gift Act

Penal Code Sections 852 to 852.4 – Uniform Act on Fresh Pursuit

Penal Code Section 1334 – Uniform Act to Secure the Attendance of Witnesses from without the State in Criminal Cases

Penal Code Sections 11175 to 11179 – Uniform Act for Out-of-State Probationer or Parolee Supervision

Probate Code Sections 16045 to 16054 – Uniform Prudent Investor Act

Probate Code Sections 16320 to 16375 – Uniform Principal and Income Act

Probate Code Sections 18501 to 18510 – Uniform Prudent Management of Institutional Funds Act

Probate Code Sections 19501 to 19530 – Uniform Trust Decanting Act

Revenue and Taxation Code Sections 13801 to 13810.4 – Uniform Act on Interstate Compromise of Death Taxes

Revenue and Taxation Code Sections 13820 to 13820.13 – Uniform Act on Interstate Arbitration of Death Taxes

Of course, there are many other uniform acts that exist in California law, but the above listing provides some examples to understand some of the unique topics that are covered by these uniform acts among the states.
