President Donald Trump vs. Governor Gavin Newsom on Climate Change

‘Climate change – it’s the greatest con job ever perpetrated on the world’

By Katy Grimes, September 24, 2025 2:55 am

What a contrast. Tuesday at the United Nations, President Donald Trump read UN leaders the riot act for imposing their immoral, destructive climate change policies on Western Countries, while California Governor Gavin Newsom inked a partnership between California and Brazil “to scale up cooperation” on climate change schemes, clean energy, cutting pollution, and “job-creating climate opportunities.”

President Trump railed against climate change:

“This ‘climate change,’ it’s the greatest con job ever perpetrated on the world, in my opinion,” Trump said. “All of these predictions made by the United Nations and many others, often for bad reasons, were wrong. They were made by stupid people that have cost their countries fortunes and given those same countries no chance for success. If you don’t get away from this green scam, your country is going to fail.”

“I’m telling you that if you don’t get away from the ‘green energy’ scam, your country is going to fail. If you don’t stop people that you’ve never seen before that you have nothing in common with, your country is going to fail.” (Watch)

“The entire globalist concept of asking successful, industrialized nations to inflict pain on themselves and radically disrupt their entire societies must be rejected completely and totally — and it must be immediate.” (Watch)

“The challenge with trade is much the same as with climate: the countries that followed the rules, all their factories have been plundered… by countries that broke the rules. That’s why the United States is now applying tariffs to other countries.” (Watch)

Trump even said that in year 2000 the UN General said climate change would result in conditions around the world worse than nuclear war.

It’s year 2025. The climate is pretty much the same. Everywhere.

Gov. Newsom calls climate change “the existential issue of our time.”

But Newsom’s people and the Brazilians don’t appear worried about “the existential issue of our time.” Because they plan to achieve “climate neutrality goals by 2050 and 2045, respectively.”

Newsom claims his deal is “truth:”

“By strengthening our partnership with Brazil, California is reaffirming a simple truth: global challenges require global cooperation. This couldn’t be more true as we look forward to the UN’s Global Climate Conference that Brazil is hosting later this year. We can work together to cut harmful pollution, protect critical ecosystems, and build economies that work for people and our planet.”

California doesn’t have “harmful pollution.” And Newsom is no economist – climate change policies do the opposite – they destroy “economies that work for people and our planet.”

Notably, Wednesday in New York, “Governor Gavin Newsom will participate in two fireside chats at Climate Week where he will discuss climate change, democracy and the way forward.”

Ah, the way forward.

This is notable in the Newsom news release: “In-person media registration is handled by Clinton Global Initiative and the New York Times (respectively). Please reach out to those organizations if interested in credentials.”

Is the Clinton Global Initiative still a thing? Fuggedaboutit.

Gov. Newsom says We can expect exchanges on:

  • Development and implementation of market-based carbon pricing programs, including the use of high-quality carbon offsets.
  • Advancing clean transportation through the adoption of low-carbon fuels, expansion of zero-emission vehicles and infrastructure, enhanced public transit systems, and more to reduce greenhouse gas and pollution emissions.
  • Conservation of 30% of lands and oceans by 2030, bettering the lives of communities by providing pathways of engagement for climate education and knowledge.
  • Strengthening air quality management through enhanced monitoring and modeling, regulatory controls on air pollutant emissions, and a cost-benefit analysis of air pollution control measures.
  • Nature-based solutions, biodiversity protection, carbon markets, and the development and deployment of clean technologies that are critical to advancing climate change mitigation, adaptation, and resilience.

“Together, these efforts reduce air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions, protecting public health and strengthening the economy.”

Except it doesn’t do any of that. It keeps third world or emerging countries exactly where the elitist political operatives want them.

Most people actually know that the “climate change” moniker is the latest catch-all for dull and deceitful politicians, and low-information journalists as cover for their incompetence and corruption. It’s also a good excuse for politicians to redistribute taxpayer funds to shady NGOs and non-profit organizations which claim that more public money will solve the climate problem – eventually.

Reporters from mainstream news outlets actually claimed that the Pacific Palisades fires in Los Angeles were the result of rising temperatures around the globe, instead of being fueled by dense vegetation that had built up over years.

As the Trump administration cuts federal funding to Newsom and other blue state governors’ climate grift, they are fighting back with odd and meaningless climate deals with foreign countries, which is illegal. The governor hides behind a Memorandum of Understanding.

We addressed Gov. Newsom’s plan to decrease the state’s gas supply in special session legislation, creating more shortages, and more expensive gas for Californians. USC Professor Michael Mische warns that California gas prices could escalate 75% to $8.43 per gallon in 2026 due to the pending shutdowns of two major in-state refineries.

Thank Gavin Newsom for that.

  1. newsom following in Jerry brown’s footsteps making pacts and pledges with foreign entities despite the constitution forbidding states from entering into deals with foreign governments? I don’t see a reference to the language Jerry Brown added to his deal with China about none of it being legally binding. perhaps the DOJ should look into this? it could lead to Newsom being impeached.

    1. You are correct about these wannabe “statesmen ” cutting deals with foreign interests that are not allowed by the Constitution.
Hopefully this will be made known to the DOJ.

      1. Newsom and his “fourth largest economy in the world ” claims have resulted in him getting way out over his skis….

  2. This is the argument that may dominate the midterms. On one side, the globalists asking for more sacrifices, and $10 a gallon gas, and on the other- “it’s a con job.” President Trump has the momentum and as usual has forced his opponent into an untenable position.

  3. “Governor Gavin Newsom will participate in two fireside chats at Climate Week where he will discuss climate change, democracy and the way forward.”
Translation : Governor Gavin Sleazeball will engage in at least two shady deals where he will negotiate deals that he will personally profit from, result in a higher cost of living for California residents while lowering their quality of life, institute more Communist central control procedures and generally intrude negatively on your life and livelihood.

And the Palisades and Altadena fires had NOTHING to do with “climate change “… it had everything to do with two rainy winters that grew a heavy fuel load that was NOT MANAGED at all, and a high wind event that Southern California has had for centuries.
Granted that one was a strong one, but we’ve had those long before this “climate change ” scam has been foisted upon us by Communist globalist interests and their shady control plans.

  4. The difference between Trump and Newsom is that President Trump (in his UN remarks, for instance) has what it takes to make the so-called “unpopular” point of view popular, because it’s TRUE, and he is a powerful person actually saying it out loud —- his record is full-to-bursting with such examples —– while Newsom can only manage to make the already-absurd-on-its-face point of view even more absurd.

If Newsom thinks he can take the total irrelevance that is coming his way — if it is not here already — and turn it into a viable presidential campaign, especially when he is no longer governor, he is more delusional than we thought, and that is really saying something.

Here is Newsom debasing himself (again) as a guest on the also-irrelevant and hardly-watched Stephen Colbert show, doubling down on being a horse’s ass with his usual arm-waving act on full irritating display as he throws vulgar (and untrue) schoolyard names at the most popular and respected president in modern U.S. history. Is this more politically violent rhetoric meant to light a fire under the crazies?

OMG is Newsom clueless. And obnoxious. Doesn’t he realize that trying to play to 12% (maybe) of the hypnotized and out-of-touch U.S. population with this crap is NOT going to work for him? Most of the country already views him as a laughingstock.

  5. Gavin Newsome and his cohorts are some of the most dangerous people relevant to America’s survival.

Donald Trump is invoking only softball issues as he’s actually afraid of Gavin Newsom, probably because he’s compromised; Newsome knows this thus he taunts Trump repeatedly.

Refineries are being dismantled and the covid injectable is of an ominous profile for Californians: We’re in a lot of trouble yet failed to recognize the fact.

  6. Gavin Newscum is a lying, cheating, crooked, slimy snake-oil salesman. Never believe a word that comes out of that douche-bags mouth. What makes you people in Kalifornia keep electing this lying turd to office? Is there something in the water there that makes you do this?

    1. Bless your heart, now calm down and give that flood plain property away to somebody from NYC.
And btw, if those school kids in Uvalde had cops from my home town respond, then, today their parents would have fewer empty chairs at the table.

  7. When I was in secondary school (the 1960’s) the prevailing wisdom was that the earth was 1 to 3 degrees (Celsius) warmer than today. Life flourished. Good luck finding that conclusion in any current textbooks. Fast forwarding, I pursued anthropology into graduate school. Anthropology dives into religion in an attempt to understand it as a cross-cultural human behavior, I can tell you that the average follower/proponent of anthropogenic climate change is completely trapped in a cult religion.

    1. Fed Up – Cult religion without a doubt. I know this has been much talked about, but to actually see it is jaw-dropping. Just posted about personally witnessing it over at Katy’s Ivanpah article. Will copy part of it here:

“I’ve actually seen people with my own eyes (a good 15-20 years ago, now) who sat on my local city “citizens’ environmental commission,” hand-picked by the left-wing mayor to do his bidding, who did not know that transmission lines were required to funnel “renewable” energy from solar farm or wind farm to light bulb. Is it possible that some even thought the sun and wind magically created renewables without the mechanism of solar panels or windmills? They definitely followed the Church of Green and Gaia was invoked, and I’m not kidding. Some read aloud, at the start of the meetings, from the Kyoto Protocols as though they were reading sacred religious text. Of course they didn’t like natural gas or dams, which were “not green,” but they were unable to explain why. Solar salesmen showed up regularly in hopes of sucking off the govt trough. Ah, memories…..”

  8. I’m not sure that I saw the leader of Brazil in the picture with Newsom and the Climate Gang (AKA Apple Dumpling Gang). Trump mention the President of Brazil early in his speech and told the crowd that he had invited him to DC next week. This war of Greenness is going to be interesting. My money is on Trump.

    1. Mine as well.
Trump’s speech rolled over their entrenched environmental psyches, like a soil ripper mounted on the back of a D9 Caterpiller.

  9. Yes, Showandtell. The cult has high priests that you dare not question lest you be branded a heretic. You cannot see, feel, touch, hear or smell climate change but the cult insists it’s real. Our coastlines were supposed to be under 30 feet of water 20 years ago. “Oh, well, we were off by a little bit.” And, of coarse, you must tithe. Tithe, tithe again and tithe more until you have no money left. If you are a government agency or an NGO seeking grant funding you must insert “climate change” dozens of times in your documents or you won’t receive a single penny. The climate change cult religion is the existential threat of our lifetime.

  10. Uggh, Newsom the modern day California 49er, except is he chases fools gold and convinces others to do the same. He deals in lies and deceit. He makes his evil overlords very pleased!

He really is an enemy of the state.
Interesting how he teams up with Brazil, just like China! No coincidence!
Trump speaks truth in the Lion’s den. Good things will come of his speech.

  11. Would this be the same Brazil that is chopping down trees in the Amazon as fast as they can? Such defenders of the environment they are…

  12. How about Nazi Newsom get his @ss back to California and fix the mess he has created here? Not only is Nazi Newsom the worst governor we have ever had, he’s also the laziest. He literally does no work on behalf of working California citizens. The state is paying him to do nothing.

  13. If Hair-gel Hitler and the criminal Democrat thug mafia that controls California get SB177 signed into law, then no Californian will be allowed to criticize their WEF globalist climate scheme or the rest of their totalitarian agenda. The bill would impose fines of up to $1 million on major social media platforms that fail to censor content deemed in violation of state civil rights laws. It will lead to EU-style censorship of lawful speech but Democrats are lamely trying to justify the bill by citing rising incidents of hate-motivated harm and hate crimes involving anti-immigrant and anti-LGBTQ+++ slurs.

    1. So Newsom was on Stephen Colbert’s show the other night claiming that there may not be an election in 2028? Who wouldn’t be surprised if Hair-gel Hitler Newsom intends to initiate a “Western Alliance” that would withdraw California along with other Democrat control states from the United States? Who will be their army of foot soldiers? Cartels, Antifa, Transtifa, BLM, and other violent far left groups?

  14. HOW’S THAT HIGH-SPEED RAIL coming along? The unions want to make sure the scam continues long enough for everyone to retire before the plug is finally pulled.
