Rep. Anna Paulina Luna Calls for Federal Funding Cuts in California Until Corrupt Elections Are Reformed

Ballot harvesting is merely manufacturing votes on an as-needed basis

By Katy Grimes, June 9, 2026 8:20 am

California’s elections have been a disaster since the state Legislature passed and Governor Jerry Brown signed a bill authorizing ballot harvesting in 2017. This legislation was just in time for the 2018 election, where California’s congressional Republicans lost 7 seats – all thanks to ballot harvesting after Election Day.

Additionally, California has allowed more than 800,000 inactive voter registrations to remain inactive and on the rolls for at least three elections — with 151,202 on the rolls after at least four consecutive elections, a new federal lawsuit states.

We’ve also just watched in disbelief as Los Angeles Councilwoman Nithya Raman pulled ahead of Spencer Pratt in the LA Mayor’s race by a magical swing of 43,000 votes, AFTER Primary Election Day. After giving a tear-filled concession speech Election night, somehow Raman gets a ballot dump of 43,000 votes?

After the first results were in, Mayor Karen Bass eventually increased her vote total by 98%, Spencer Pratt by increased his by 78%, while Raman’s vote totals increased by 190%!

Did other races – the race for Governor – increase this much? Becerra? Steyer?

LA attorney Elizabeth Barcohana posted this shocker: “Skid Row’s turnout increased 150% from our last Mayoral Election.”

Ballot harvesting. “Unfettered third-party ballot harvesting: no ballot limit, no collector restrictions, and no chain of custody,” U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli explains:

“California is a fraudsters’ paradise, make no mistake about that,” Essayli said, breaking down how California has eliminated almost ALL of its fraud-prevention measures:

“Almost ANYBODY can register to vote in the state of California. You don’t have to have a social security number and you don’t need a driver’s license number. [You can vote with] a gym membership, a prescription label, your employer ID card, and my favorite, a health insurance card, which California gives out health insurance to illegal aliens. It used to be against the law to handle anybody’s ballet other than your own or your immediate family member. That changed in 2018 in California. Anybody can handle anybody’s ballots… California has removed the paper trail, they’ve removed the chain of custody, they’ve removed any meaningful way for us to basically have a forensic audit of where a ballot came from.”

Many Democrat and Republican voters in California are fed up with lawmakers passing “laws” which are patently illegal, as ballot harvesting after Election Day is.

Fortunately California’s corrupt elections are drawing attention across the country.

Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna is calling on Congress to cut off federal funding to California until it cleans up its “shady election process:”

“The US gov sends billions to California to subsidize their failed policies. It is time we STOP until they clean up their shady election process.”

That’s one way of getting the attention of California Democrats.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis also weighed in on California’s messy elections:

“I’m sure the massive, post-election vote dumps will boost leftist candidates. Taking days or weeks to count votes and announce the results is a joke.”

We replied “So glad California’s corrupt month-long ballot counting, ballot curation, ballot harvesting process has been exposed nationally. We’ve been writing about it since 2017, when Democrats passed the law authorizing the process.”

Notably, Florida, which requires photo ID, uses a paper ballot-based voting system statewide, with optical scan tabulation as the primary method for counting votes. All ballots produce a voter-verifiable paper record, which serves as the official vote for audits, recounts, and verification. This is how California used to tabulate votes. And Florida calls its elections on Election Day, as do 30 other states.

When Mike Benz said “I feel like we need to fix California before we fix Venezuela,” a X troll picked up Gov. Gavin Newsom’s standard answer and replied, “California is the top donor state. They send the federal government $83 billion a year. They lead the way in many areas. You just don’t like the way they run their elections. I think you need to start fixing the RED STATES.”

That’s Gov. Gavin Newsom’s standard answer – to claim that California is the top donor state, meaning the state sends the federal government more funding every year than it takes back from the feds.

But while California is consistently the largest net donor state to the federal government in total dollars, it is primarily due to having 39 million residents, high economic output, and concentration of high-income earners who pay a disproportionate share of progressive federal taxes. California also receives the most federal spending in raw dollars among states because of its size. That has nothing to do with California’s messy elections, and ballot harvesting 30 days after Election Day.

Another X follower replied:

“I am an immigrant from Venezuela who became a US citizen. The fraud in California is how it started in Venezuela. I hope citizens take this glaring fraud seriously and secure elections before more unworthy people get voted into positions of power.”

Remember, it was just before the election at a press conference when Gov. Newsom actually announced that Democrats were going to actively intervene in the election process, in a “break-the-glass moment.”

US Attorney Essayli was on multiple news shows and explained that California is blocking a Federal Audit of Its voter rolls, and allows first-time voters to register using forms of ID that most Americans would find surprising, including:

  • Gym membership card
  • Employer ID card
  • Credit or debit card
  • Prescription drug label -Insurance card (California provides free health coverage to undocumented immigrants)

He explains that this is permitted when a voter fails to provide a Social Security number or driver’s license at registration. “Our office believes this policy deserves a closer look. We also have serious concerns about how California maintains its voter rolls. There are open questions about whether the state is promptly removing deceased voters, people who have moved, and individuals convicted of disqualifying felonies. On top of that, California allows third parties to collect and turn in ballots on voters’ behalf (a practice known as ballot harvesting) with few restrictions. This makes it difficult to track who actually received, completed, and submitted each ballot. For over a year, the Department of Justice has been trying to audit California’s voter rolls. Federal law gives the Attorney General the authority to review state voter files and confirm that only eligible U.S. citizens are voting in federal elections.”

“Assistant US Attorney Harmeet Dhillon sent California a letter explaining our legal authority. California refused to comply, claiming state privacy laws block the review, an argument that does not hold up because those laws don’t apply to the federal government in this context. We’ve sued California in federal court, and the case is before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. If California genuinely wants voters to trust its elections, it should open its records, not fight to keep them closed. What are they afraid of?”

The only purpose of an all-mail-in balloted election, with no voter ID, ballot harvesting and miscellaneous ballot drop boxes, is to make it near impossible to prove the widespread fraud. As Essayli said, there is no way to connect the voter with the ballots dropped-off by a third party.

Ballots are curated in Skid Row by balloted harvesters, using homeless drug addicts:

“Raman’s late mail in ballot surge was fueled in large part by ballots from Skid Row. Tens of thousands of homeless whose ballots are sent to central addresses (not the sidewalk) & can be filled out/returned by someone else. Suspicious…”

All you have to do in California is handwrite the Election Date on the envelope in order for it to be valid.

James O’Keefe warned us in March:

“Homeless Bribed with Cash & Drugs In Exchange For Registering To Vote & Signing Election Petitions Caught On Tape Undercover On Skid Row In California.”

California NGOs Encourage Fake Addresses To Homeless People To Sign Petitions & Register Voters, A State & Federal Felony. Footage Shows 28 Instances Of Cash Changing Hands For Ballot Signatures & Voter Registration Forms. Many of the petitioners had no understanding of the petitions’ purpose they were advertising. Circulators also instructed individuals to use fake addresses. ‘Oh, you can just fake an address.’”

Ballot harvesting is merely manufacturing votes on an as-needed basis. It is unbelievable that this has been going on since 2018, and only the Trump administration has sought to correct this illegality.

  1. I live in California hell hole! It is time that these arrogant people in this state need to start following the rules of this country not what they want to do! Americans first and only! Cheating, lying, and doing what they want is over with! No more welfare and handouts to illegal aliens!

  2. At the end of the day:
Bass vs. Pratt = Toss up
Bass vs. Rahman = Bass Win
Now you know why Bass did not want Pratt in a run-off. no vote totals until all of votes are counted, don’t help those parties “find” the right amount of votes, make them guess.

  3. Why hasn’t one of California’s Republican congressional representatives come out and demand funding cuts to California until the state’s fraudulent election processes are cleaned up instead of a Florida congressional representative like Rep. Anna Paulina Luna?

Kudos to her for proposing the cuts, but congressional Democrats and their RINO cronies will never allow funding cuts to California? More than likely many of them were installed with voter fraud? Speaking of RINOs, where’s California’s Rep. Tom McClintock on California’s shady elections? Not a peep from him about it. He might be boring someone with his Founding Father’s spiel or maybe he’s plotting on how to further derail President’s Trump’s MAGA agenda?

  4. In L.A. County, no postage is required on mail-in ballots returned by the voter to the registrar. This was not done by the County for the voter’s convenience, mail charges were covered for return of the ballot so there would be no postmark on it. Any entity, including the County of L.A., who pays in advance for the voter’s or customer’s postal charges, knows there will be no postmark on mail —- whose costs are paid for in advance —– that is returned. In this case there would be no postmark on a voter’s ballot returned to the County Registrar. The County covered all postal charges BECAUSE they knew there would be no postmark on the returned ballot. Thus the only date shown on the returned ballot would be if the “voter” or “witness” wrote a date, and we have no way of knowing if that date is accurate.
Just one tiny part —- one little detail —- of the disgusting putrid voting scam in California.

    1. The no postmark is just another example of Democrats covering up every possible way to ferret out voter fraud.

  5. Good! As a lifelong California resident, I am also disgusted with the absolute FECKLESSNESS and WORTHLESSNESS of the Republican party “leaders” LIKE Tom McClintock, someone I USED to support but no longer, as he has NO SPINE or FIGHT against this ultimate corruption…
It makes it easy to believe that such “leaders” are either ON THE TAKE or AFRAID FOR THEIR LIVES due to the extreme positions that the current crop of power-mad Democrats take and force upon the taxpayers, to OUR DETRIMENT!!!

  6. The smiley face signature is classic.

Six days before the election Newsom signed SB 73.

Previous Rule: Observers could previously raise challenges if they believed a signature looked fraudulent or did not match.
New Rule (SB 73): Observers are explicitly banned from challenging a signature “on the basis that they believe the signature does not compare with the signatures appearing in the voter’s registration record.”

So if you have inattentive, incompetent or fraudulent signature checkers, you can do anything about it. How convenient…for vote cheating.

You can thank the corrupt Democrats for furthering their corruption coverup.

There are three things you can count on in life: death, taxes and Democrat vote cheating.

  7. There is a case titled “United States vs Ike Brown” that is a virtual textbook for electoral and voter fraud. It is buried deep down in the internet with Wikipedia describing the case only as the first case of electoral discrimination against a white man with no further information given. years ago I stumbled across it in a legal firm essay describing the case (it is very long and very detailed, and I believe there are several other distinctly different federal suits headlined U… S… versus Ike Brown. If I remember right, it was in a mississippi county whose name started with a “B” and which I cannot pronounce eaven reading it.

  8. I have to clarify something I wrote above. I used the word “essay” concerning the legal firm offering of United States vs Ike Brown because I couldn’t come up with a more correct word at the time nor even now.. It was a word for word presentation with no editing or opinion of the firm of the case complete with the apparently obligatory, mind numbing, seemingly endless legal opinion of the judge, which quoted previous cases and was akin to voluminous legal reasoning of why the sky is blue, why water is wet or how paint dries. There was no opinion or explanation of the case by the legal firm which presented the case to the internet. It was an eye popping, naked description of bald faced, cheeky fraud and intimidation by a local political machine and its puppeteer at the county level.

  9. It would help if Republicans were not so RINO. Why haven’t they done anything about this before. Fail. They can’t even pass the SAVE act. Disgrace.

  10. I just read that 80% of California’s costs to support illegal alien immigration is from federal funds.
If I lived in Left-wing, Colorado or Bum-f___, Oklahoma and knew my tax dollars were distributed to a cesspool run by crooks, I’d be pissed.

The fact that California’s leaders choose to ignore federal laws and mandates begs the question, “Why is California getting ANY federal money?”

We need leaders who can think and don’t have a personal agenda. The United States was never intended to be run by career politicians.
