Another Gay Activist With Ties to Rep-Elect Adelita Grijalva Scrubs Social Media

Last week, The Globe reported on a Tucson councilman and alleged sex worker tied to Representative-elect Adelita Grijalva who had scrubbed his social media accounts after members of the public found disturbing images and comments in Councilman Rocque Anthony Perez’s various profiles, including OnlyFans, TikTok, Instagram and X (formerly Twitter).

The Globe received a file of  pornographic images and disturbing comments made by Perez in 2020, but had remained visible for years to young students, his employers, and the Tucson City Council until he scrubbed/deleted his accounts earlier this year.

The Globe has now found that Perez’s OnlyFans gay pornography account was commented on by a young student, a minor, who is now the Communication & Content lead for Tucson’s Vice Mayor Lane Santa Cruz in Ward One. Eddie Barrón is now a junior at University of Arizona and a young queer activist who uses he/they pronouns.

The interaction between Rocque Perez (@localanthony) and Eddie Barron (@eddiebarron_) on social media was also recently scrubbed (see below) after The Globe reported on Perez last week.

At the time this online interaction occurred, Barrón would have been under 18 years old, a minor. In 2020, Barrón was a 16 year-old sophomore at Sunnyside High. He is now on the Board of the Sunnyside Unified School District Foundation.

The day before Perez announced he was interested in “sex work”, Barrón commented on his OnlyFans X account @localanthony:

In 2019, when Barrón was approximately 15 years old, he expressed he was “a slut for white boys w blue eyes” and interest in opening an OnlyFans account. It is not known if Barrón has an active OnlyFans account. If he does, it will likely be scrubbed.

Yet, the interaction between the two Tucson Democratic gay activists did not begin or end online. The two were Directors of the Changemaker Foundation that recognized Rep.-Elect Grijalva in 2021, a now defunct nonprofit Perez founded in August 2020 when Barrón was a minor.

Recently, Barrón announced he was  a “lobbyist” in Washington D.C. for “transportation and infrastructure”, stopping to take a photo with Rep.-Elect Grijalva on the Capitol grounds. We cannot confirm if Barrón is a registered lobbyist as he portrays himself to be on social media.

As Barrón revealed in a 2020 op-ed published in the Arizona Daily Star, his “dream is to study political science at the University of Arizona, work in state government and eventually run for the U.S. Senate.”

It seems Barrón is being groomed to do so by Rep.-Elect Grijalva, Councilman Rocque Perez, the Tucson City Council, and his mom who “has raised a feminist.” His Dad was deported back to Mexico when Barrón was a child.

The public and pornographic interaction on social media between Perez and Barrón and the defunct Changemaker foundation dates back to 2020, when Barrón was a minor. Their close relationship with Rep.-Elect Grijalva is also noteworthy and interesting, as is the consistent theme of pornography exposure to children–specifically among elected officials and employees who are heavily involved in K-12 education.
