CA Reps. Dave Min and Derek Tran Join Other Democrats Trying to Unmask ICE Agents

These are the same people who mandated masks on everyone’s faces in California

ICE agents wear masks primarily for their safety, as they face threats and harassment from the public, including doxing and death threats against their families, the Globe reported in June.

But Democrats are now pushing for ICE agents and members of law enforcement to unmask themselves at a time when ICE and other law enforcement are being violently attacked.

Attacks on ICE agents are up nearly 700% compared to last year, in many cases by masked protestors.

California State Senators Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco) and Jesse Arreguin (D-Berkeley) are the authors of Senate Bill 627, the “No Secret Police Act” to prohibit law enforcement at all levels – local, state and federal – from covering their faces while conducting operations in the state of California.

Democrat politicians propose to put ICE agents in harms way; they want to unmask ICE agents, to expose their faces and name badges to the radical, violent protestors who dox them online.

In the last week, there were two ambushes on ICE agents in Texas. In San Francisco and Los Angeles, ICE agents were violently protested, attacked, and protestors brought tire spikes to protests to damage ICE vehicles.

So what do elected Democrats do?

They push to unmask the federal agents who choose to cover their faces to prevent doxxing. But masked looters, masked Antifa, and protestors wearing masks and the keffiyeh are okay. Democrats are attempting to strike fear in ICE agents – it’s a form of terrorism being done by politicians who swore an oath to uphold the Constitution.

A similar bill authored by U.S. Senators Alex Padilla (D-CA) and Cory Booker (D-NJ) was introduced Tuesday in the U.S Senate, also signed by Senators Blumenthal, Booker, Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), Hirono, Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.), Murray, Jacky Rosen (D-Nev.), Schiff, Smith, Van Hollen, Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.), Welch, and Wyden.

This is quite ironic since U.S. Senator Alex Padilla (D-CA) deliberately did not have his US Senate pin on as required, when he barged into Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s press conference recently, and tried to rush the podium while she was talking.

In the House, California Reps. Dave Min and Derek Tran cosponsored H.R.4176, the “No Secret Police Act of 2025” which would remove the protections, like masks, that ICE personnel wear to prevent being doxed.

If that’s not enough anti-police legislation, Rep. Dave Min introduced an amendment to the One Big Beautiful Bill that would have similarly prohibited ICE agents from protecting themselves from being doxed.

Both Min and Tran also voted against a bill that would deport illegal immigrants with DUIs. This could be personal for Min because he’s still on probation for his own DUI in California.

ICE, CPB, and other law enforcement clearly face serious threats to their lives and Rep. Dave Min and Rep. Derek Tran are clearly working to make it even more dangerous.

Ironically, these are the same people who mandated masks on everyone’s faces in California, including babies and children, during the coronavirus flu outbreak, while locking 4o0 million people down for 3 years.

It’s as nutty as California Governor Gavin Newsom calling President Donald Trump an authoritarian, when Newsom ordered California locked down for 3 years, mandated masks, social distancing and the covid shot, to go back to work and school.

Democrats are authoritarian bullies who have no problem with their protesting/rioting/looting thugs wearing masks but not law enforcement who are trying to protect the public.

As one Globe reader recently asked, “Shouldn’t elected public ‘servants’ be accessible to their constituency?”

  1. Trump had the opportunity supported by the elements of the crime to arrest Newsom and others for sedition; he did not. Rather Trump’s bluff was called thus confronting us now are sinister operatives more emboldened than ever.

  2. Wow, isn’t it amazing how these Dem Marxist legislators never fail to be both malevolent AND annoying. Notice how the only apparently purpose of this bill (SB 627) is to expose ICE law enforcement (and their families) to violent attack and harm, but Scott Wiener, Jesse Arreguin and the gang use scare language (“secret police”) in an attempt to pass this obscenity on the sly instead of revealing that they would be okay with doxing and violent attacks on ICE officers and their families.
If what they are proposing is so necessary, why not simply tell the truth about their motives? Why not just say, in the first place, that they would like to see ICE officers attacked, harmed, threatened and intimidated? But NO…. as we know this is not how Dem Marxist politicians operate these days.

This bill, SB 627, is now in the Assembly. We need to call or write or both, ASAP, our Assembly Rep and insist that he or she VOTE NO on SB 627. This is very important. We need to help protect ICE officers and other law enforcement and their families from the real attacks and threats these Dems would apparently like to see increase, not decrease or stop entirely. Unbelievable, isn’t it!

  3. Katy Grimes is absolutely right that legislative Democrats are authoritarian bullies who have no problem with their protesting/rioting/looting thugs having masks but not law enforcement who are trying to protect us. Maybe legislative Democrats should be held accountable if their policies result in law enforcement being doxxed and attacked?

Legislative Democrats are public servants who should be identifiable when they’re on official state business and they should wear name tags just like they want for law enforcement? Better yet, maybe they should also wear tags identifying who is funding their campaigns and giving them payoffs? One can only imagine the nefarious supporters of Democrat Representative Dave Min the reckless drunk driver and controversial Democrat Rep. Derek Tran who came out of nowhere to barely win the election by a few hundred votes over Michelle Steel in one of the closest elections of 2024?

  4. Min’s opposition to deportation for sexual and domestic abuse…
“Dave Min (D-Calif.) said it could create an unintended chilling effect for victims of sexual abuse, who might fear they could be deported if they report the crime. i.e. how democrats tie themselves in knots to protect the community.

  5. If these Democrats think this is a good idea, then they should post their addresses and names and ages of family members online. Why not? What do you have to hide?

    1. They are not that hard to find. Every time one of these knobs opens their mouths, I do a quick search for them. Sort of a hobby with me. Rarely takes more than 5 minutes. They would do well not to wish violence on others. It could come back on them.
