Citing Propaganda, State Senator Padilla Proposes to Dumb-Down Teachers

California State Senator Steve Padilla (D-18) introduced Senate Bill 995 Wednesday with the misnomer High-Quality Teacher Recruitment and Retention Act. SB 995 would cut two years out of teachers undergraduate and credentialing coursework, which traditionally takes six years, assuming a normal full-time course load. The law would require a 5-year pilot program to establish a “pipeline” from Community Colleges to the State University System, to ensure students graduate with a bachelor’s degree and teaching credential in four years.

“(i) A structured pipeline created by the California State University in coordination with the California Community Colleges that lowers cost barriers and accelerates completion time focused on students starting from when they are still in high school can help California increase enrollment in teacher training programs, increase diversity of the state’s teachers, and help ensure every classroom in the state is led by a qualified teacher.”

In a typical Marxist fashion–cause the problem, misdirect the causes of the problem, and then suggest the detrimental solution–Padilla claims that the teacher shortage is due to “early teacher retirements in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.” Specifically, Padilla claims:

“(b) The age demographics of teachers pose a significant threat to the state’s education system and that threat has been exacerbated by an increase of early teacher retirements in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Learning Policy Institute found that two-thirds of the school districts it surveyed were facing an increased number of vacancies due to retirements and resignations.”

Padilla is correct about the teacher shortage and early retirements (and resignations), but those are due to tyrannical Democrat policies pertaining to the transgender cult, sexualizing young children, the China Virus response, legislation that is detrimental to classroom management, or simply making conservative views known – and not Covid per se. Teachers that did not, or do not, conform to the insane and idiotic narratives were, and still are, bullied out of the profession.

Masks and Vaccines

The Democrat mini-tyrants belief that face masks provide protection against a virus and their obsessive promotion of a dangerous experimental “vaccine” that caused countless deaths and injuries resulted in countless teacher resignations.  Yet, there are now hundreds of peer review studies that prove masks are ineffective at protecting from a virus. Even Dr. Fauci agreed that masks did not work.

While democrats still widely stick to their propaganda about the Covid vaccines being safe and effective, most of the world now realizes just how dangerous they are. While the vaccines were not mandated for teachers, California Governor Gavin Newsom and school districts pushed them with a very concentrated propaganda effort.  Newsom infamously wasted at least $116 million on his “Vax for the Win” program to encourage Californians to get the Covid vaccine.  School districts and County Offices of Education pushed the vaccines hard well into 2023.

Indeed, school districts even attempted to get parents to succumb to the vaccines for their children by pushing Newsom’s attempted Covid vaccine requirement.

Legislation

In 2023, the California democrats passed, and Newsom signed into law, AB 274, which banned suspension of students in K-12 for willful defiance. The ban had already been in place for K-8 and has an enormously detrimental effect on teachers’ ability to manage their classrooms. As early as 2016, California was requiring teachers to recognize the pretend world of students’ “gender identity.” Things have only worsened since then, as California now has laws that will rip children from loving families if the parents do not conform to the cult. Foster homes now, by law, consist only of families indoctrinated into the cult.  Not to mention, that elementary school principals now train their teachers to teach books and lessons to first graders meant to sexualize them, in clear grooming behavior.

Padilla and democrats need to face reality – teachers simply do not cotton to being forced to wear face masks that are detrimental to their health, nor do they care to abuse children by forcing them to. Teachers do not wish to be psychologically manipulated into taking vaccines that may kill them or lead to expensive medical side-effects. Teachers do not wish to be forced to sexualize young children with age-inappropriate books and lessons geared to indoctrinate them into the transgender cult. Teachers do not wish to be forced to recognize children’s pretend world as real by being forced into calling boy girls, and girls boys. Nor do teachers wish to stay in classrooms that are not safe due the restorative justice policies of not punishing bad behavior.

In other words, the teacher shortage is not due to Covid, it’s due to the fact that Padilla, and the California Democrat super majority government has driven them out of the profession. Cutting two years out of teacher’s education will not create highly qualified teachers, as the core STEM coursework will surely suffer at the altar of the democrat transgender indoctrination.

SB 995, if passed into law, will only generate highly indoctrinated teachers that will be highly quality indoctrinators. Wake up California and kick these morons out of government!
